  1. How does langford walk when he looked at strike 3?
  2. So anyway …. we are 63-40 since their horrible 7-13 start in April. We learned how to win tough games.
  3. A healthy AK could be a player going forward but will that ever happen? No idea but the speculation will be a topic until he retires or just gets healthy and plays over 120 games. We have been down this road with guys a few times.
  4. Matthews will need to keep his chase rate up by making batters swing at balls just out of the zone. Batters could feast off of his ability to throw all strikes. Love the pitch mix cause it seems to keep guys off balance and down 0-1 , 1-2 in counts. He keeps that up and he will be a top end starter!
  5. Yes! He is well worth it. The team started out horrible also at 7-13. The tandem of catchers we have is an anchor to all the young guys holding the pitching staff together. We are now 17 games over .500 and rolling despite 2 SP on IL and our #5 never pitched an inning in ‘24. We will miss the Vasquez/Jeffers tandem when its no longer.
  6. @Otaknam SWR’s fastball is regularly 95/96 and has touched just under 98. One of the reasons that he is no longer a failing AAA guy. He revamped and developed other things besides velocity in the offseason as well.
  7. Pitchers have never blocked anyones path on the Twins or any other team. You never have enough of it. If his arm checked out and we needed him to fill a hole in the rotation next year, we would be out bid for his services by a big pocket team. He will be better the further away from TJ that he gets.

  9. Or they just pay guys to win championships. Ownership needs to pay out to keep this team intact!!! The whole team needs to return minus Margot. Add 1 or 2 new faces and pay all the kids. $7.5M for a #3/4 starter in Paddack who can go to the pen in October, you can’t buy that for less in the open market.
  10. Thats too bad!! I was a freshman in college in Oct ‘87 and a Senior in ‘91. It was the best of times! Moved to MPLS in ‘92 and snuck budweisers into the metrodome several times that year.
  11. Can you imagine what life will be like on this site next year if we win it this October and then below .500 in wins in 365 days. RpR will lose his shat.
  12. I guess we are testing Sands as a closer
  13. Would have been nice to give Festa more early runs so he could get the win.
  14. Paddack is still young. He does NOT have a massive contract going forward. This being his first full year removed from a 2nd TJ puts him in line to be a solid to way above average SP for years.
  15. Have you considered it a consensual agreement? He gets arm rest. Keeps his core in tact and comes back a monster for 4 weeks. And why would we trade him next year? Rely on 3 sophomore rookies and Varland to be 2/5 of a pitching staff? He isnt going anywhere.
  16. Very true but we don’t talk about the failures much as they slide away without mention. Like that kid that got in a bar fight, the lefty that beat cancer, the aussie that was homesick…. We have plenty of failures and always will. The pipeline is pumping full blast tho.
  17. They are milking the DL list because they have young options. MRI will be clear on 8/27 and the Sheriff will ramp up for 3 weeks and bring his guns to the show for October. Our FO has a plan.
  18. Barring injury, this will be 3 years straight. Consistency at C is having a great impact on our young pitching staff and both of these guys (Combined) is legendary. When it becomes a reality just over 12 months from now, we will celebrate. History will not repeat this tandem for a long time. Get used to it. We are only 60% there.
  19. Does it really matter which is #1 or #4? SWR has clearly had the best growth year by pitching 100 MLB innings. Festa has lights out, make batters look silly type stuff. Matthews is the raging bull and has Ober type #1.5 SP in his future. Varland and his heater can certainly be a mid rotation guy but at some point, (every Sept?) will he go to the pen to be the 6/7inning stopper. It sure seems logical. Everyone of these young guns is why Falvine were hired. They all have LOTS of development left to discover and they all have 7-10 years of MLB careers ahead of them. Hopefully all as Twins!!! They will not be traded because you can’t give this type of stuff up and upgrade to what? The next group, Morris, Lewis, Culpepper, Raya and Preillip are going to be knocking doors down in ‘25 &’26! Right on their heals is Soto, Dasan Hill, Tanner Hall, the Kid in the Dominican and probably 2 other kids that find the Falvine magic. I probably left out a guy or two so my apologies in advance! Until these guys start failing, other teams will be calling with a shopping list of who they want, the sign on the store front should read,… “Not for Sale without Large Overpayment .”
  20. Get Festa some early runs and chase evoldi tonight !!! Nice to See Duran back up at 101+ Anyone heard if C4 is coming off the shelf this weekend?
