  1. Jenkins has been injured most if this year so it makes sense that his development and production isnt off the charts.
  2. Every player gets injured on every team. No one plays thru it like Cal Ripken Jr. If these prognosticators are running the numbers and come up with erod, then other players are dealing with bigger career impediments then he is. Fantasy wise, he may be the best or “they” are bad at analytics. As a GM, you don’t just dream of having the best potential talent, you figure out a way to achieve it. Anyone that thinks top prospects are tradeable, needs to understand that it takes one hell of an offer to pry these types of prospects away from an organization. Then look at the business plan of Falvine and you will understand that top prospects stay and the 3rd tier are regularly traded regularly. 2nd tier(Chase Petty) if an immediate hole is filled (Sonny Gray).
  3. It was a tough loss. Champions always have to go thru this type of game/outing. How Alcala and the rest of the team responds is what’s important. Learn from the mistakes. The team could have manufactured another run or two earlier in the game and rendered the implosion moot. Baldelli and staff could have pulled him sooner and slowed the game down…. Its all hindsight. Move on and win the next series.
  4. With some positive luck and solid play, we can take all 3. We are better than our current record.
  5. Brutal 19 pitches by Alcala. Better days ahead boys!!! Keep your heads up!!! Cleveland has lost 3 in a row. Lets go take 3 in SD and no one will care about this loss.
  6. How does langford walk when he looked at strike 3?
  7. So anyway …. we are 63-40 since their horrible 7-13 start in April. We learned how to win tough games.
  8. A healthy AK could be a player going forward but will that ever happen? No idea but the speculation will be a topic until he retires or just gets healthy and plays over 120 games. We have been down this road with guys a few times.
  9. Matthews will need to keep his chase rate up by making batters swing at balls just out of the zone. Batters could feast off of his ability to throw all strikes. Love the pitch mix cause it seems to keep guys off balance and down 0-1 , 1-2 in counts. He keeps that up and he will be a top end starter!
  10. Yes! He is well worth it. The team started out horrible also at 7-13. The tandem of catchers we have is an anchor to all the young guys holding the pitching staff together. We are now 17 games over .500 and rolling despite 2 SP on IL and our #5 never pitched an inning in ‘24. We will miss the Vasquez/Jeffers tandem when its no longer.
  11. @Otaknam SWR’s fastball is regularly 95/96 and has touched just under 98. One of the reasons that he is no longer a failing AAA guy. He revamped and developed other things besides velocity in the offseason as well.
  12. Pitchers have never blocked anyones path on the Twins or any other team. You never have enough of it. If his arm checked out and we needed him to fill a hole in the rotation next year, we would be out bid for his services by a big pocket team. He will be better the further away from TJ that he gets.
  13. 63-40 since their horrible 7-13 start in April. We learned how to win tough games.
  14. Or they just pay guys to win championships. Ownership needs to pay out to keep this team intact!!! The whole team needs to return minus Margot. Add 1 or 2 new faces and pay all the kids. $7.5M for a #3/4 starter in Paddack who can go to the pen in October, you can’t buy that for less in the open market.
  15. Thats too bad!! I was a freshman in college in Oct ‘87 and a Senior in ‘91. It was the best of times! Moved to MPLS in ‘92 and snuck budweisers into the metrodome several times that year.
  16. Can you imagine what life will be like on this site next year if we win it this October and then below .500 in wins in 365 days. RpR will lose his shat.
  17. I guess we are testing Sands as a closer
  18. Would have been nice to give Festa more early runs so he could get the win.
  19. Paddack is still young. He does NOT have a massive contract going forward. This being his first full year removed from a 2nd TJ puts him in line to be a solid to way above average SP for years.
  20. Have you considered it a consensual agreement? He gets arm rest. Keeps his core in tact and comes back a monster for 4 weeks. And why would we trade him next year? Rely on 3 sophomore rookies and Varland to be 2/5 of a pitching staff? He isnt going anywhere.
