  1. Friend of mine has a traeger and swears by that one… may have to ask mrs claus for one
  2. Have not invested in the egg yet, worth the dime spent?
  3. So Rocco looks around the dugout and says who is right handed and can play 1st base? No one raises their hand and Rocco pulls Vazquez name out of hat and says we have a winner! Who cares if he is: Slow a foot 5'9" barely hitting his weight: 205 lbs (generous) vs .216 But he does make $10MM a year and calls a good game I've heard many people say. So Correa comes out the game early Friday night and last night and can't play today knowing he gets Monday and Thursday off next week. Dude, man up and say you are playing since you make $33MM a year. Try being the leader you aren't at the moment. Go Twins
  4. Correa had a chance to be a leader in 9th, but took off speed pitch right down the middle. Took fastball right down the middle. 2 Strikes looking. Then swings at crap low and away in dirt and shrugs it off as oh well. Holy bleep for a $33MM so called leader. Not saying to blast one in that position, easier said then done, but put the bat to the ball and see what happens. Tight sphincter moment I guess
  5. would like a 1-2-3 by Lopez after that start. Get the boys back in dugout swinging the sticks
  6. Only stat that truly matters - Twins won with Dallas on the mound. Keep the boys in the game and we got a couple of timely hits and Dallas will help us get through August.
  7. Buxton was 2 for 8 on the 30th and 1st games batting in the 3 or 4 hole. Other games late joy were in the 6 hole. There is mental pressure applied of being in the 3 hole or cleanup as you are the man type of mentality pressure. DH is hard enough as it is by not being fully engaged in all facets of the game. 30 minute stretches between each bat takes a special hitter, Buxton while doing his best isn't quite there. People talk about wear and tear on knees playing in the field with sudden start / stops. Why aren't we talking about knees when he is twisting and turning trying to hit a baseball and then 1st jab step out of the box to run if he has to run on potential base hits. If his knees are bad, they are bad regardless of what he is or isn't doing. All-Star break, paternity leave, etc. was a great time to sit him down for 10-15 days to rest and recoup. Now out with a hammy again. Is his body because of other ailments creating other ailments by over compensating? Could be. He is limping to the season finish line at the moment and potentially for the rest of his career.
  8. maybe he saw his name in the 3-hole spot and jumped for joy and pulled his hammy
  9. win tonight and lead in division back up to 3 games. Take care of business
  10. Time to capitalize on Astros facing Guardians/Guardians while we get Cards. Need to capitalize on opportunity create one more game up breathing room if all goes our way tonight
  11. Rocco hasn't give Jeffers back to back starts all year at catcher I don't think. Vazquez has gotten some, most notably getting night game and then day game this past weekend vs Royals. $10MM has some influence on have to play the guy more than presumed backup. Buxton now in 3-hole, nothing like moving back up into mental pressure of being a 3 or 4 cleanup type of DH.
  12. Nice heater Jeffers is on, currently riding a 9 game hitting streak which I believe is career best. Funny how over a year ago, many wondered why we shipped out soft hitting Rortvedt to Yankees and kept Jeffers. Nice to know we held on to Jeffers and are be rewarded with watching his steady climb of improvement. Rort has been on IL 4 times with Yankees and hitting .125 in limited sample size.
  13. Gallo is still around since FO gave him $11MM, FO isn't going to DFA'ing the guy as then they would admit they made another mistake. Yikes
  14. Buxton has a nice day and moved right back to 4 hole. No pressure in 6 hole and for one game looked good. Leave him there
  15. Don't see Twins doing anything at this deadline to address right handed bat. Lineup tonight posted a few minutes ago has Wallner, Taylor, Kepler (OF) and Gallo at 1B. So looks like this quartet is here to stay. Obviously guys can get scratched if trade comes through, but just not seeing it
  16. I like the idea but maybe not the partner. E-Rod is 20 years old, lefty/lefty OF with some speed, some power. Currently at Cedar Rapids and not necessarily lighting it on fire but does fit the mold of 30% K rate the Twins seem to live with. At best 3 years from seeing target field but could be longer. Are we losing anything at this point by including him in a trade? I don't think so. Pirates are truly the Pirates and always play the 5 year plan every year is year one of the plan. Ownership runs the team as a business and don't care much for worrying about being a true competitor. Living in Pittsburgh area, the running joke is Penguins make the playoffs and then Steelers training camp conversation and activity ramps up after July. So Pirates, get one month of attention. Wallner and Larnach, redundant attributes and both may not be long term fixtures either, so do we lose one of those guys and miss a beat? Not sure we would. Somebody has to win the division, Twins have the talent to be that team. Playoffs is a crap shoot, got hot and win one game one and monkey starts to jump off your back. Who knows at that point
  17. https://www.ballysports.com/north/news/statuesday-breakout-minnesota-twins-catcher-ryan-jeffers-flying-under-the-radar I think we are good hands with Jeffers.
  18. Good win for the Twins today. When you put the ball in play, good stuff can happen and eventually we got the good stuff late in the game. Vazquez swinging on 2-0 fastball below the knees isn't a pitch you can do anything with. He should know better. Happy for Jeffers especially after taking one under the chin on foul ball. No days off, boys need to find energy with Mariners coming to town. Go Twins!
  19. Would you send Gordon, Corey Lewis and Simeon Wood-Richardson?
  20. Live in Pittsburgh area, nice thunderstorm rolling through at moment... Guardians/Pirates most likely delayed till 8pm ET or later
  21. Rocco looked at his spreadsheet and it screamed righty/lefty rotational lineup.
  22. Buxton needs to be on IL till he is 100% healthy. Sure doesn't need a rest day since he did a lot of walking back and for dugout to plate to dugout over the weekend. Baffled by Wallner not getting a run since being called up.
  23. I get it and I agree but like I said, he isn't flashy but he makes plays. The "hot take" that is flat out not good doesn't really fit the narrative.
  24. But look at the energy he showed by celebrating his walk! Said with sarcasm by the way
