  1. Next 7 games (at Cubs for 3 and at Guardians for 4)really will tell the story as to where they are headed come deadline day. Losing road trip, especially a 2-5 scenario would be death nails lining the coffin. I still think you need to trade Jeffers if he stays where consistent with his performance. Larnach has some value but what are you going to replace him with in the lineup? His value offensively will never be higher, defense is another story, if we stink it up on roadtrip, does ownership group waive the flag again? Team has many flaws top to bottom on the field that this looks like a crap shoot as to what will happen
  2. 2nd pick of the draft for twins and they take Carson Tinney, a catcher from University of Texas
  3. Jeffers now active, so they are carrying three catchers for next few weeks. Somebody will get traded, 99% sure it will be Jeffers
  4. This isn’t a negative for Jackson at all, but what stands out to me is running hard to first to put pressure on defense. That is the way baseball should play regardless of who batted the ball. It’s refreshing a guy who is a gamer working hard to make a difference with the abilities he has.
  5. So if Buxton is dinged up again and sits for a few games, does he or should he even play in all-star game? Has earned the status of all-star, yes. Could he use those off days to heal, yes. Now the kicker is, he rests up and then plays in all star game but then needs another week long break later in July. If Pohlads believe we are a playoff team 9laughing as I am typing this), he should rest as often as he can to be full buck when he plays.
  6. So year to date snapshot… 31-39 record 9-19 record vs teams >/= .500 record 22-20 record vs teams <.500 record Record vs only 5 teams in AL .500 0r better 3-4 white Sox, 2-1 guardians, 1-5 rays, 1-2 Mariners, 0-0 Yankees Twins just aren’t a sound baseballl team at all. Some bright spots few and far between to have any sustainable success. Pohlad’s made a trickle of a splash on terrible off season buys to say we invested in the club. They will argue, only 6.5 back in crappiest division in baseball at 8 games under .500. I will counter only 2.5 games out of last in crappiest division in baseball. Would be shocked if Buxton doesn’t wave trade clause. They will sell him on look at the future with young talent coming up. Only way he agrees to future is playing young guys now to see what may be there before trade deadline or at this point for him off season if call ups get some continued run aug/sept. currently constructed team will be lucky to get to 65 wins
  7. One home run truly announces his return…that’s wishful commentary. He has a long way to go to announce he is in their future plans. He still has way too many happy feet swings at the plate for. Y liking.
  8. Another short bench by one, if they wait for him to feel better mid-week next week which may not be the case on health. Sit him down, get 10 days of rest, no rehab assignment needed when he is ready. He misses upcoming roadtrip vs tigers, cards, and rangers. We aren’t a contender for playoffs, time to look at some outfield call ups for roadtrip and see what we have if Buxton wants out of Twins bleak playoffs caliber team in coming years. Since I wrote this, it won’t happen though
  9. At some point the.players will want opportunities to compete for a championship consistently. Twins aren’t there and might not be in the next 2, 3, 4 years. Buxton will want that chance. You have to listen on what a package will be and let him decide. Jeffers and his hot start hurts both side with injury, but you trade him since Boras will push off season price narrative. Ryan you move him for best return. Pick anyone of these in Ryan or Jeffers and Buxton will opt out in my opinion.
  10. I’m going to temper my excitement as we haven’t really been beating good to really good teams if you look at records. Now I will say that you play the schedule planned as is. Take advantage of opportunities and see what happens when you get your turn vs murderers row of division leaders well above .500 winning percentage. Take the W’s when you can.
  11. When front office pays a guy $7MM a year, directive to Shelton is play the guy he’ll or high water… Vázquez all over again. Other posters say sign Jeffers long term…why in the hell would Jeffers consider it when he is the better option day in day out, but is getting Rocco’d . What a waste of money by bungling Front Office in the off season. Caratini, Bell, pick any bullpen guy to pile on.
  12. Bench by numbers, pretty bad representation of cost of good vs value
  13. Caratini is Vázquez 2.0. What a bad pickup for the cost. Could he turn it around and be respectable, sure but twins made their bed at the backup position by not drafting well at the position and development of who they did draft. enjoy Jeffers for a couple more months and he will be gone at trade deadline most likely.
  14. Rays have to be laughing seeing this lineup. Has to be the slowest foot speed collectively with this group today vs all mlb teams. Yikes
  15. Not the A lineup tonight. Clemens over Bell, he’ll Clemens over anyone is baffling
  16. Roster construction is awful and has been since off season acquisitions. 40 man you have 6 LH outfielders to 4 RH guys. Outman is on 26 (LH) man for what reason have no idea. Larnach, wallner make up the other 2 in outfield. They missed opportunity to bring up Culpepper to generate a buzz, but played it safe with career .140 swinger at the plate, Kreidler. The illusion of a 1st place team with what we have, is just that an illusion. move outman and Clemens (even Wagaman) off 40 man if needed. Royce who I’m not sold on at all comes back, move Kreidler back down. Bring up Fedko and send Wallner down to figure it out, if that is even possible. Bring Culpepper up to play short, platoon Lee at 3rd with Royce and Lee when Culpepper needs a break. Culpepper and Lee can platoon at 2nd when Keaschall needs one Just give us something to get excited about is an easy ask but mgmt won’t do it.
  17. Throw culpepper into the fire. Drop the dead weight of veterans that aren’t the future. Move Lee to third and generate some excitement with fan base with culpepper getting extended run. Detroit, pirates have bitten the bullet with McGonigle and Griffin. This type of move should be made but won’t be by twins.
  18. Live in Pittsburgh and look what pirates are at least trying to do. Call up griffin and sign him to a long term deal. Tickets prices for home opener because of interest in the club with some good off season movement, trades, FA, etc went up 3x the prices last week before the news. Yes win “now” has fans excited at the moment and coming to the ballpark, good balance of youth sprinkled in with veterans and at least city believes the mgmt rhetoric they are spewing. Twins on other hand spend bad money on veterans, ignore the youth that that the fan base has interest in, will labor to win 65 games and sell off guys again in July. pirate will take their lumps more times then not, but at least the learning curve with young pitching staff and some you guys in the field feels more exciting than Twins dumpster buys last couple of years
  19. Lewis is a Buxton 2.0, but less than Buxton. Mr,. Happy feet I don’t slump isn’t reliable. Batting 4th or 5th shows you just how bad this roster is
  20. He has never been elite. Elite isn’t a 1 month stretch.
  21. Uniforms across the board are fine for me, so no ranking changes needed. I don’t care what they wear as long as they can win some gains. So many wins might not be in play, so maybe I will have to care more on the look. I like the red top, city connect I lean towards liking, my favorite though is the cream look. That reminds me old school historical baseball
  22. “In” on Valdez and Peralta is like me saying I’m in on winning the power ball. Spend money to make money and I decided no investment on the power ball. I was in though. I don’t see where mgmt has really done anything more than lip service about building around the core…some dumpster pickups doesn’t really mean investing or building the core. None of the 3 excite me
  23. What will be his closer entrance is next question that needs to be addressed? My submission would be “Bombs Away” by Bob Weir from the album Heaven Help the Fool
