  1. Corey, I have work responsibilities for a company call Agpro in ANZ. I come to Auckland every 6 months or so and do back there in December. We always stay downtown near the harbor, have had good food and beer. Have been to Christchurch and Rotarura a couple times. Outdoor activities with great weather, can’t beat it.
  2. If this lineup is what we have for next year, middle of the pack finish in the division is wishful thinking. Now granted this piece is based on current roster and not trades/free agents etc. but my goodness is this a weak team. Nice write up though
  3. Jackson lives to not catch/play another day. cashing a paycheck like the 3rd string clipboard carrying QB’s of football. Great gig if he can get it. He has to be happy to be a twin as our FO is smarter than 29 other teams when it comes to roster management
  4. Plus now you star eating at your 10-day window which you could already be on day 4 if you pulled trigger Tuesday night, day three Wednesday. He isn’t healthy plains and simple.
  5. They DFA - woo-Suk-go, Optioned Roden to St. Paul
  6. Last I heard he works with Jeffers in off season and then some work with UNC Wilmington baseball team before training camp with Jeffers as well.they get a plan for off season from coaching staff with check-ins on progress. It’s up to the player in the end to be ready come spring training
  7. Controlling Jenkins on HOPE of winning rookie of the year and getting an extra draft pick in 2028 and calling up Jackson when he didn’t need to be called up to replace an outfielder (Martin) shows continued incompetence. So many things that should have could have been done differently is what Front Office continues to do. Until major changes of flushing out front office people who aren’t remotely good at what they do, this type of inaction will continue.
  8. Defensive flexibility means you aren’t good at any position. Case in point by Keaschall don’t blame players for all mistakes, contributors for sure, Front office owns poor roster management.
  9. It’s tiring to hear a reason for a call up is defensive flexibility to sit on the bench. No to Ross as we have 3 guys who fit that bill already. Defensive flexibility means your aren’t really good at any position. No to Ross, spring training he can fight for that one spot. We don’t need 4 guys with that ability. Wallner to show what? Hit some bombs but is awful on defense. You benching Bell? Raya and not sure who are you demoting at moment. Rogers, thank him for his time but he isn’t a leverage guy high or low. gonzalez doesn’t move the needle enough for me. Twins mgmt with a move to Gray would be another punch in the face for the fans, not to mention Jenkins. None of the guys on the team are center fielders with Buxton being injured for 2+ months now. Twins roster is bandaids and lipstick on a pig organization. Jenkins or bust. No service time issue to worry about a hope for rookie of the year next year. Hope is Twins front office mindset. Play him now and it would prep him for next year full time. Don’t want to hear, well there maybe or will be some form of lockout. Maybe there won’t be and you get 140 games vs 162. No one has a crystal ball but deep down players wont like missing paychecks and owners well they won’t like missing write offs
  10. Bell with day off, Jeffers DH and $7MM man catching…glad they called up Jackson to waste a roster spot. He cleared waivers and you could have kept him in St. Paul…roster construction is baffling… guess they will pinch hit caratini at some point and Jackson will get a defensive inning late in game
  11. And next to last in runs allowed in AL. The only team worst then them is the A’s which showed last night. They are 4th worst in all of baseball in runs allowed. Left handed/right handed batters is one of the least of their concerns
  12. Baseball has a funny way of working itself out. We need wins to stay in the playoff race. You play the scheduled laid out for you so we better win these types of games. Culpepper if you look beyond the hits last night for some more baseball can be funny and cruel. His four hits the off the bat mph were all 86 or less including a 67.8 fly ball over 3rd basemen, can’t call that a line drive. Jeffers smokes one 105.3 straight to CF for an out. Hit’em where they ain’t as my dad would say back the day. the dream of playoff baseball continues
  13. Investments in the team need to be done but as others say, building around Buxton to start with is fools gold. He plays out his current deal and then resign him doesn’t mean break the bank. Spend money, but do we trust that they will spend it wisely? Doubt it. Bell for most part okay, Caratini for 2 years not so much. Gallo, don’t need to explain or comment. Salary floor, cap doesn’t mean anything to me as it still comes down to execution of the spend and this organization hasn’t been good at it at all. They can say we will be buyers, invest, etc but comes down to an organization that can execute. Jury is out
  14. Thanks Caratini! Blows both challenges in same inning. *
  15. They should have traded him for potentially top 100 guy maybe, but at,least a potential 1-2 guys from a team in need out of their top 10 to top 30 prospects. QO “lottery” pick will take about 4-5 years to possibly make bigs, prospects in trade may shorten that time considerably for a better return. Ship, has sailed and mgmt will tell anyone who wants to listen, we bought at deadline. August schedule should have told them we need to capitalize on expiring assets
  16. Twins mgmt team runs on a strategy of hope, which results in mediocrity and for a relative small budget organization (by choosing). Cardinals rolled the dice yesterday with Baez and he made an immediate spark. Draft pick impact is 5 years down the road on average, but hey let’s hope he can win rookie of the year!
  17. Price would be right but the twins showed us their money prowess by getting him in off season to then get caratini for $14mm over 2 years. Could have used $14 caratini dollars on something better offensive wise
  18. Across 189 career games, Jackson owns a .174/.252/.305 slash line and has struck out in nearly 40% of his plate appearances. At best he is AAA material,
  19. Active tonight with no move but that will change when they get back to Minneapolis and resume normal homestand. Can’t imagine who gets the boot, my preference is Jackson as I don’t see Buxton playing many games in the field
  20. 7-8-9 in lineup is not murderous row from back in the day but more like murdered row. Rotten, I mean Roden getting time is quite laughable, 3 games under .500 rest of month could be double digits under but we will run same not future guys into lineup. Mgmt missed the boat on getting some prospects back for Jeffers, Larnach and others at deadline. QO to Jeffers means you potentially get a draft pick you develop for 4-6 years vs maybe a couple guys ready this year next year. Hoping to compete in crappy central division is not a strategy when you didn’t address offense
  21. Royce is hitting well at the moment, reminds of the one month heater he was on years ago. Can he sustain any consistency for rest of the year, then we may have something long term. Everyone wants him to be new face, hero moment guy, not buying the hype yet. Ride the heater he is on and see if the can 24 more wins and see where that puts them in pecking order. games remaining: 1 brewers, 3 orioles, 3 Phillies, 3 padres, 3 a’s, 3 home & 3 away White Sox, 3 home & 3 away tigers, 3 Guardians, 3 Yankees, 4 Angels, 3 Giants and last 3 vs Rangers. Where can we score 24 wins to make playoffs potentially? Not 82 2ins division or gets you in at all. Need a winning August
  22. Throwing Culpepper right in and batting 7th. I like it
  23. ROY award is nice and I’m sure 1 extra pick after round one is a bonus, which means your draft $ pool doesn’t change? If the incentive is just a draft pick and no increase in pool dollars, not sure it is worth it. service time manipulation stinks by owners. I could see that being a sticking point in all cba talks as players wanting more control of their timeline.
  24. So I read the rules/stipulations and they say PPI program allows up to but can’t exceed 60 days of MLB service time. Then below that statement it says rookies aren’t considered rookies after 45 days. Not sure what the timing baseline is.
