    Sure, reversing the close games can make all the difference. Compare the 2022 Vikings with the 2021 edition and that becomes clear. Keeping a healthy and relatively stable squad, and challenging for the division seems a realistic goal. Beyond that the path is a lot thornier.

    I’d put Kepler as just a notch below Denard Span. So a possible pitching prospect. Alex Meyer obviously didn’t work out as hoped, but he was considered pretty high calibre at the time of the trade.

    As I recall, Kennys Vargas was going to be the next Papi here, then Sano was going to be. It turned out the 2019 juiced ball was the actual heir apparent.

    Again, I might allow him to opt back into year 2 of the original 3 year contract. I would not offer an extension and would let him have the opt-out again after year 2. This would buy the time for Lewis and maybe Lee to be ready.
