  1. With new CBA would like to see it easier for clubs to give young players some MLB experience. Now have to be on 40 man roster, if moved up teams have to drop someone off 40 man.
  2. I am Cano and Hackimer fan, but Chalmers has been wild. Chalmers has MLB arm but not MLB control. Hope he figures it out soon, time running out for him. Winder on my list, Canterino has further to go, at high A now, but looks good. Ober did not look overmatched in MLB start. Twins really need to develop some of their own pitching, can't rely on FA market and cast offs every year.
  3. Matthew made a good point that Berrios in likely gone after next season. Berrios has the most trade value now. Instead of holding on to him and still having an average to below average team-get some pieces for the future. If Twins hold on to Berrios will not get much when he leaves.
  4. Looks like Canterino at least ready for AA. Will be interesting to watch how prospects are moved up, with late start to MiLB not many games played yet. There are a few others off to good starts at the level they are at but with such a small sample size difficult determine if ready to move up.

    My Twins Shakeup

I would like to see Miranda and Whitefield up to AAA first. Pitching has been the main concern, move up WInder, Cano, Moran, and Hackimer to AAA. Hope Twins are more aggressive moving up players this year. I believe Miranda, Whitefield, Moran, and Hackimer are all rule 5 eligible, move them up to AAA at least if they succeed great, if not move on.
  6. Under the radar- Pitchers-Cano, is he still under the radar, Hackimer, and Moran, Louie Varland. Would like to see Ober and Jax get a shot at MLB this year. Hitters- Gordon probably not under the radar but hope he gets another opportunity this year at MLB. Miranda has figured out something with his bat, as well as Whitefield.
  7. Why pitch a LH against White Sox? If Twins are so analytical, the odds of success are minimal and Happ just got knocked around last week. If I was Happ may have woken up with some "tightness in my back". Next on BP options.
  8. Sounds like can only promote to MLB from AAA this year, hope Twins get Cano up to AAA soon. Twins desperately need to develop some of their own pitchers. Cannot rely on FA market every year, there are reasons players are available as FAs. Wes cannot fix everyone. I like a few AAA possibilities, but think ceiling higher for Chalmers, Cano, and Hackimer in AA.
  9. The late start to the MiLB season will affect how quickly teams move players up. They are not even 2 weeks into the season. Cano may be an exception, has been dominant and is already 27 years old. Not much to risk at least moving Cano to AAA. I am not on Broxton bandwagon, another poor hitter, good defense trying to get another chance at MLB. Broxton is hitting .179 in AAA.
  10. Great job Seth, hope to make a few Kernels games this year. Baseball America had a good article a couple of months ago on how many minor league players make the bigs. Each team this year control 180 minor league players, according to the article only 11-12 will have at least a 3 year career in MLB, only 33 will even make an appearance in MLB.
  11. Three batters reached base on Cano, first a slow roller where SS would have been if IF not shifted, then 2 swinging bunts- one called an error and the other a hit. No solid contact.
  12. I was watching Cano also last night. Wow, I realize they were AA hitters but he completely overmatched them. Great presence on the mound, older for a prospect. Cano was on my top ten list of pitchers to make their MLB debut for Twins this year. Will be interesting to see how Twins handle his progression. I was impressed with Moran also, big LH pitcher.
  13. I was watching Cano also last night. Wow, I realize they were AA hitters but he completely overmatched them. Great presence on the mound, older for a prospect. 14. Bullpen has been main concern, along with injuries. Rocco making many of same decisions he made in 2019, only results are different, players not producing. I like RB as manager and this time will make him a better manager in long run. Get everyone healthy and producing, find some consistency in bullpen and Twins will be OK.
  15. Dman, I agree with your picks but do you have any sleeper picks or under the radar guys that may surprise this year.
  16. Bring on Larnach, I know he has had limited official AAA experience but I believe he spent last summer at the alternate site practicing and scrimmaging AAA talent.
  17. Agree with jkcarew-Cave is the one that will have his playing time decreased when Sano returns. AK primarily playing LF, and occassional 1B for Sano. Garlick play against LH pitchers, Arraez, 2B, 3B, to give infielders rest maybe even DH. Don't see much of a role for Cave, Astidillo can at least play multiple positions and emergency catcher.
  18. Need some major BP adjustments, may need to DFA someone to allow a roster addition. Unfortunately, doubt the next dominant closer is sitting at St. Paul and anyone still unsigned will not be the answer either. FO may have gotten overconfident this offseason with recent good luck picking up other teams cast offs.
  19. AAA roster full of experienced players, only 4 pitchers and 5 position players with no MLB experience. Ps- Barnes, Jax, Ober, and Duran. Position players-Hamilton, Wiehl, Maggi, Gordon, and Larnach. 2 Ps no AAA time-Duran and Ober, Larnach only position player with no AAA experience. Not saying right or wrong only an observation.
  20. I am hoping for a new arm or 2 to get the call. Unfortunately, there has not been any MiLB games so not much to go on. Wish they would have at least started AAA 2 weeks ago. Let one spot in BP be a rotation of pitchers-Stashek, Anderson, Waddell, Smeltzer, Thorpe. Twins tend to be loyal to veteran players, Shoemaker may get more starts for a while.
  21. Rortvedt in lineup today, good call Nash.
  22. Any word how minor league spring training has went the past month? Any surprise standouts?
  23. Lets see some new arms in BP, replace Stashek, Theilbar. Lets see what Anderson, Waddell, or Duran can do. Closer? Rogers and Duffy have struggled some this year also, but Colome just does not have it-would like to see Alcala in the mix with Rogers and Duffy maybe give Robles a shot also.
  24. Twins are in a terrible streak. They hit a flare down the foul line, foul by 6 inches, opponent's flare fair by 6 inches. Twins pitcher doesn't get the call on a pitch just off the plate, opponent gets the call. My concern with the FO the past couple of years has been they seem to be trying to get one more good year out of an aging pitcher-Bailey, Hill, Shoe, Happ, Romo, etc. Has worked out some of the time, lets start seeing Waddell, Anderson, Duran. Chalmers, and others.
  25. Would like to see some different arms in BP, Stashek good candidate to go down. How about Duran, could use him as opener 3-4 innings or piggyback with Shoe or Happ.
