  1. Nice job again Seth. Interesting Aaron thinking of super utility position, sounds very athletic, fast and possibly ready defensively, but needs bat improve. Handled being released well and sounds like likes Twins organization. Will be watching his progress.
  2. Always seem to be some pitchers that a change of scenery and a different pitching coach can make a big difference. Twins FO always seems to be looking for the right type of pitcher to fit the organization's philosophies. Good luck with the Twins Ian and Brandon.
  3. Great job last night Seth and others. Agree with going for SP with some upside, don't like aging pitchers or too many injury concerns. One thing not discussed was Twins only have Pineda signed for one more year, would be great to find a midrange FA with some upside that could be the #3 pitcher after next year. Wes and the Twins have good eye for pitchers that need a little tweaking to upgrade their performance.
  4. No Kela too much drama, no O Perez too old, no Doolittle aging and injury issues, maybe Walker or Smyly. Price may be right and worth risk.
  5. First, no limits to shift. But, never understood why batter would limit hitting to basically half the field, a fair share of their hard hit balls are foul. Batters need to adjust.
  6. Really enjoyed the interview, Seth, good job. Looks like Matt is a real thinker and works hard at the little things to improve. Excited to see his development in the future. Hope they get a normal season next year. Interesting to hear they shut him down a little early since Twins felt he had pitched enough innings this year even though did not throw in a real game.
  7. Great job again Nick and others. Twins could sign veteran FA to help transition younger players into MLB. But, don't see Twins signing FA for 10 mil.+, money better spent elsewhere.
  8. Did Littel have an injury, elbow? I like Littel, but always wondered if his success was sustainable. Hope he turns it around next year and is successful for Twins, but only see Twins offering him a minor league contract.
  9. If you did this exercise last year, doubt if Maeda or Wisler would have made list of possibilities. I am sure there are a few players the Twins have their eye on that will be released or nontendered in the next couple of months, maybe some trade candidates. Will not be the year Twins sign big time free agent, but should be some bargains in the free agent market given payroll decreases across MLB. Plenty of talk of offensive prospects getting opportunity, but also I look for some young pitchers to get a shot next year, but probably not on roster opening day. Not a fan of signing aging players, especially pitchers, hoping to get one more good year out of them. I would let Cruz, Marwin, Romo, Clippard, Hill go.
  10. Not sure how many of Twins minor league players are rule 5 eligible, but I think some higher prospects will be this year-Kirilloff, Rooker, Balazovic, Colina. Already carried Duran, Chalmers, Gordon, Blankenhorn, Celestino on 40 man last year. May be some difficult decisions coming.
  11. So little info on nonMLB players this year without MiLB, hard to know young pitchers that are close to being ready or ready to play for Twins. But maybe a few that have passed up Littel. I would try to sign him to minor league deal.
  12. Winder, Wallner. Mack discuss change to catcher
  13. Great job Seth. Hope Tom gets an opportunity with Twins next year. Every team needs a sidewinder on their pitching staff. Fun to see different side of player, look forward to future spotlights.
  14. Garver/Jeffers at catcher maybe sign vet to minor league deal for insurance. Like Adrianza as 2nd utlility infielder, he was best defensive infielder for Twins last year and can play all 4 positions. Then sign Hernandez type as primary utility infielder. Twins FO like to have multiple options, can see Gordon/Blankenhorn/Lewis for callups incase of injury.
  15. Maybe be more pitchers available than you think. Will probably be more nontendered players this year, Stevenson will be kept by Cin. since at minimum but other pitchers in the 3-6 mil range that teams may move on from. Twins may be thinking about nontendering Rogers, can understand argument for this but hope he is back.
  16. I am not very familiar with pitchers on other teams especially relievers, who is available. Yes, Twins need to find another WIsler this year. Always afraid of aging pitchers, maybe avoid hoping to get one more good year out of a past their prime pitcher.
  17. Yes, anxious for information on prospects. Unfortunately, probably not going to be much given no MiLB and no stats from alternate sites. Looking forward to Prospects Handbook, whatever form it will be, I am sure will read every word.
  18. Really enjoying these discussion, great job. I agree with y'all, Rosario hard to bring back. Rogers only one that is not an easy sign, but would bring him back.
  19. If Cruz not back and don't sign front line starting pitcher, Sano could be second highest paid player on team. Hoping Twins let Rooker, Kirilloff be up at start of season. Cave as 4th OF.Sign decent IF backup like Hernandez, give Blankenhorn a shot, Jeffers is no-brainer for me. Sign FA pitcher or Odorizzi, along with Dobnak at SP,one solid RP maybe Treinen, along with May, Rogers, then look for the next Wisler. Still have Stashek, Littel, Theilbar, Smeltzer, Thorpe to battle for last 2 spots.Has to be some Twins pitching prospects ready to get a shot in MLB, only pitcher made their MLB debut last year for Twins-Colina for one out. Hopefully play a full season next year and young pitchers get opportunities.
  20. Why would anyone trade for Rosario. Twins will nontender him and someone can sign him for less then what Rosario would get in arbitration. Free agency will be interesting this year, the top players will probably still get top dollar but others might be signed at bargain rates.
  21. If Twins can do another Maeda type trade where Twins give up a player of good value but receive a high quality player that fills a need, then yes/
  22. Great job last night, enjoyed it. I am for putting the Twins money towards pitching, seems to be weaker with MLB ready prospects. Not a fan of signing aging pitchers, no Hill or Romo, apprehensive about Clippard. Add FA starter-Odorizzi? and closer. Hitting may be some drop off from Cruz and Rosario with young players, hope would not be worse than Marwin, Avila, and Adrianza. May be able to find cheap FA shortstop, infield player. Difficult to predict FA market this year, may be some bargains out there.
  23. Agree Twins generally need to look at Musgrove type pitchers. Someone who has potential, probably not going to be able to afford or attract the top free agents. Twins do have some trade capital with prospects, but would hate to part with any of the top prospects. How about Cave, Wade, or some lower prospects.
  24. With this shortened year did not get to see many young pitchers. In 2019, 9 pitchers made their MLB debut with the Twins, 2020 only one, for 1/3 of an inning. Should be some young pitchers get their opportunity in 2021. By the way, of the 9 pitchers who made their debut in 2019, 4 are no longer with the Twins and I think only two were on playoff roster this year-Dobnak and Stashek. Hoping for better results the next couple of years.
  25. Like top 3 for next year, couple of questions; can they consistently pitch into 7th inning and will RB let them pitch into 7th, Would like to add proven starter, Odorizzi? and 1-2 other possible starters to compete with Dobnak and Duran, maybe Thorpe or Smeltzer can bounce back.
