  1. Would love to see Canterino get a spot start or two in second half of season if pitching well in MiLB up to then.
  2. Excited to see what Enlow can do this year, passes the eye test. With a year to work on mechanics and fundamentals will be interesting to see how pitchers perform this year.
  3. Celestino spent last summer playing against AAA talent at alternate site . I don't know how he performed, but if he hit well, would that justify moving him up to AA or AAA to start the season. I am high on Celestino,. Sands peaks my interest also, agree he may make his MLB debut this year. Hope Rooker is healthy, anxious to see what he can do at MLB level this year.
  4. More I read the more I like choices made by FO. Really like the thought process and objective measures used to make decisions, not just eye test or gut feelings.
  5. Nice article, really like what FO is doing. Nobody bats 1.000, but they have made some great moves.
  6. Love trade, hope the best for Wade but wasn't going to get many opportunities with Twins. Twins get relief help. Hope it is a win-win for all.
  7. Would love to see another quality SP and affordable RP, can't have too much pitching. Twins should have some pitchers ready to contribute in minors, looking forward to seeing who steps up and breaks through.
  8. I think Twins FO is quietly hoping for universal DH so can get outbid for Cruz and diplomatically not sign him. I like Cruz for a one year contract, but want another SP in the range mentioned above, and another relief pitcher. Can't have too many pitchers, don't know if Twins have pitchers MLB ready in minors.
  9. Was pulling for SImmons to be the addition, upgraded 3 positions with signing-SS, 2B, and UIF. Arraez can handle 3B and 2B, a little worrisome in OF, and DH some hopefully for Cruz against tough RH pitcher, should get plenty of ABs. Going to be fun watching Simmons this year (hopefully I can watch FSN). Pitchers have to be excited about upgrade in defense-hope everyone can stay healthy.
  10. I was all for signing a top RP early on, but now am seeing the benefit of spending that money elsewhere. There will be reliable RPs available at lower salaries, put more money into SP and position players.
  11. Makes me think of 2 things, Twins trying to get one more year out of aging arm or maybe Twins are bullish on their young pitchers, want another year of development.
  12. Hopefully Twins are aspiring to more than just not bad.
  13. Besides Paxton, rest are only provide depth for pitching, would not want any to be #4 starter.
  14. If Yates willing to come to Twins and will sign for 5M, I am all for it. Plus Cruz, Simmons, and Walker. Cruz on one yr. contract, Simmons fine with 2 yr. will have other offers at 2 yrs., Walker, thought Twins missed on him last year, signing Bailey to 7M contract and only offering Walker a minor league deal. 2-3 yr. deal for Walker.
  15. Would not mind Porcello for added depth like Bailey. Chacin last year. But not to be 4th starter. Would rather see what younger prospects would look like, don't like trying to get one last rebound year out of a declining veteran pitcher.
  16. Getting fewer chairs in the game of musical chairs. Hope Twins make a move soon.
  17. Twins would have never offered a record breaking contract to a reliever. Still some good options left at reasonable contracts. The sky is not falling yet, but White Sox have definitely made some significant moves to improve.
  18. Looking forward to prospect report, there has been quite a bit of attrition and changes.
  19. Like closer by committee, matchups, who's pitching well, don't think Twins need to designate a traditional closer.
  20. I would like to see Twins sign Cruz, Simmons at SS, another potential high leverage reliever, Hand, and a middle of rotation starting pitcher. Castillo would be great, if price not too high, he would be my choice.
  21. Looks like Twins may have 5 RH starting pitchers, would be good to have plenty of LH in bullpen. Bring on Hand, with Rogers, Theilbar, and possibly Smeltzer, Thorpe, or Waddell.
  22. Probably buying high with Kiki since coming off being part of WS win. Would consider other options, don't think Lewis is ready.
  23. I think Wisler and agent just wanted more money than slotted to get. Not sure arbitration works-club offer, player offer and arbitrator decides? Don't know why Twins would release Wisler if could have had arbitration decide, unless afraid arbitrator would give too much. Ace brings up a good point, how to give credit for alternate site play last year. People say some of these prospects don't have enough AA or AAA at bats. But, at alternate site were hitting against AAA and AA pitchers last year. No stats available to fans, but sure Twins kept stats in some manner.
  24. Hard to see this as anything but a win-win for both Twins and Saints.
