  1. Haha. Good one! An aside . What better way to illustrate the randomness of baseball, than having Jake Cave represent your last chance.
  2. Given the bittersweet nature of the season, I thought the tone of this article was appropriate. Respectful, even. Well done. Thanks!
  3. If only. Were that the case, there might have been a rendez-vous in Houston tonight.
  4. If Gray had pitched well, would you then be expecting something from Ryan? Don't get the reasoning....
  5. Not so much to Canadians. I love mlb.tv but unfortunately, post season games are blacked out ( in real time) north of the border. However, you can still get the radio broadcasts live. I listened to the first 5 innings, went to sleep, and watched the rest this morning. It's Thanksgiving here, so don't have to work today. All worked out pretty well. The Twins are, as the saying goes, clicking on all cylinders. They're looking confident. Notably Polanco. I think I saw him display something close to swagger at one point! That would be a first, and I think it's significant. I'm getting ahead of myself, but man, it would be great to finish off the Astros at home, and have ample time to recalibrate for the ALCS opener on Sunday.
  6. It's been quite the whirlwind season for Mr. Ober. Pretty cool. This could be the start of something big (and tall)!
  7. He might accept the qualifying offer if he only wants to play for one more year. Prediction: If He gets a ring, that's exactly what he'll do.😉
  8. This point was going to be the essence of my post, but you beat me to it! C4 has shown he's a baseball savant. Can't wait for the Astros series. And their former catcher Mr Vazquez won't hurt, either. I feel for Berrios. Double gut punch of getting the hook in the 4th, and having to watch his former team celebrating in his former baseball home.
  9. Just want to mention that Rocco is more self assured now than he was as a rookie manager in 2019. I don't know how much a manager really impacts the game, but for what it's worth, I do not get that sense of self-confidence from John Schneider.
  10. And last but not least...Michael A Taylor. There were many. This team has gelled so well, Love it!
  11. Twins did everything right. Very impressive win. Not really as close as the score. How sweet it is!
  12. I'm guessing this article was in the can, and submitted before Luplow was recalled.
  13. I was confused at first, until I realised this article was written before Ryan's start last night.
  14. I don't know. But I'd look to Barry Bonds at his peak. To me, even more remarkable, is an intentional walk with no one on base! Again, Bonds. Royce Lewis. Wow. Major role in making Twins baseball so much fun now, and for the next 2 weeks and beyond. Keep doing what you do, and please stay healthy. Pardon my digression here, but I only realized yesterday, I think, that the Mariners and Rangers have 7 games left against each other, including the final 4 of the season. How cool is that. Couldn't have scripted it better for the Twins (and the Blue Jays)
  15. Gimme Toronto. The Jays are reeling right now, and look extremely vulnerable. I watched the condensed version of their matchup with Texas last night, 10-0 (!) Rangers at the Rogers centre. At the end of the clip the camera panned on Berrios in the dugout. I interpreted his expression as "gee, I wish I was still on the Twins."
  16. Time will tell, but the lineup sure isn't the same without him.
  17. I wonder if he plays the ukelele. Distant cousin of Tiny Tim?
  18. Twins now 8-4 in this much anticipated 13 game stretch vs Texas and Cleveland ! How awesome is that?
  19. I don't think so. I think Rocco would have preferred to have Headrick go the final 3. (in a perfect world) Today and tomorrow are super important, so after Headrick and Floro, that was enough relief staff usage. It was a tactical move; just like Francona's use of Fry. Made for an odd last few innings, for sure, but both managers are just trying to win.
  20. One explanation is that maybe he's setting up the bullpen for the looming Guardian series. And I love that the big 3 will be starting Monday through Wednesday. In order, Lopez, Gray, Ryan. That series will be crucial, and I think I'm beginning to smell October....
  21. Well, Arraez already had a significant body of work compared to Julien. That could be part of the reason. It's because of Julien's small sample size that I'd be reluctant to deal him so early on. Seems a bit reckless to me. Unless, of course, someone made an offer that could not be refused.
  22. To clarify, I was asking the poster to substantiate the assertion: "He's not injured" . Hence my comment: "How would you know?" It's not about handing an excuse to Carlos Correa, as you put it.
