  1. Not many people have won the Sire award twice. Will that get LaMarre entrance to the Twins Hall of Fame someday? I think Dobnak could surprise. I would like to see him get some opportunities with the Twins if for no other reason then to help justify his contract. It would be cool if he was in the rotation in 2024 with Paddack, Ryan, Ober, Winder, Varland, and or SWR. The cheapest rotation in the division. Another player I want to see get some time with the Twins is David Banuelos. I just like the idea of a player we got for absolutely nothing make the team at some point. Remember we got him from Seattle for ability to spend 1,000,000 , more on international free agents. Seattle at the time was trying for Ohtani. So if he could provide 10 games and 25 plate appearances with positive value then we win that deal by a mile. Coulombe should get innings with the Twins if he can stay healthy. Castro will be first one up if an IF gets hurt so he can be the utility player while someone else gets the starts. but I hope Lee wins the Sire award and opens the season on the Twins. That would be impressive.
  2. He will get chances. Looks like he is a few minor adjustments away… mostly in the control area but does he have a third useable pitch to throw to lefties once in a while to mix it up?
  3. The Twins really didn’t have a big to do list this offseason. We needed a C and SS which we got, We still need a reliever, and maybe a top of rotation arm. After that just some tinkering.
  4. One last thought, with the Mets in top tier of financial penalties for payroll the costa for an injury are significantly higher for the Mets then the Twins. I doubt teams can get insurance to pay penalties on contracts too.
  5. We will possibly sign 1 and with the traded for pitcher and Ryan then Ober, Winder, SWR, Varland …. Rounding out next years rotation.
  6. Does this signing mean we don’t get to fire the front office?
  7. We want a starter for 2 reasons 1. To be a top of rotation pitcher who will give us a better chance in the playoffs. 2. And this is likely the bigger reason. We have 3 starters headed to free agency after this season and having another controllable good starter helps us compete next season.
  8. Here is a link to over 900 recipes for eating crow on Pinterest https://www.pinterest.com/kerrykuss/eating-crow/
  9. So you say there is an opening in Cleveland…. It would be a boon to Keplers season to send Bauer there. if he is poisonous for the clubhouse I agree. Since all my info is second hand, I am ok if Twins management gives him a short leash ( meaning if he acts up in any way he’s out) too.
  10. Even though Correa is still a free agent, he is still entertaining us Twins Fans with all this offseason drama. This is just such a great show. I am going to sit back with my popcorn and enjoy the last few episodes before spring training.
  11. If we can sign Correa do we sign Bauer to a 720,000 contract with the rest paid by the Dodgers? That would give us an ace pitcher....
  12. I wonder if MLB stepped in and said something to Cohen along the lines if teams lose revenue cause he signs all of the star players the league will suffer as a whole for it and he needs to let other teams sign a star player for that reason.
  13. This is a good way to go back and evaluate our farm system. It looks to be pretty productive.
  14. Why do we need to move on? If we can get back in and get Correa that will be a big win for 2023 Twins. Sure we’re are likely a willing pawn in this but until he is a Met we still have a chance. Also we provide an opportunity to stay at SS while he has to move to third with the Mets. Anyways I can watch this play out through spring training if need be cause what else are the Twins gonna do? A rebuild?
  15. It seems Correa is re-engaging with another team. That would fix the offseason if the Twins sign him and a reliever.
  16. He does have the talent to be a 40/40 guy. He is kinda of like Eric Davis. a guy who had incredible talent but couldn't stay healthy for a full season either. He did do better than Buxton has but man that guy could hit and run too. Eric Davis Stats, Height, Weight, Position, Rookie Status & More | Baseball-Reference.com
  17. I'm rooting for Theilbar to end up with at least 500-600 games pitched when he retires. that's 4-5 more seasons of 60-70 appearances per season.
  18. This move is fine as either a 1- or 2-year deal. We have 3 free agent starters next offseason. While it would be nice to keep one of the three it's not likely if they have good seasons. I think Wacha can be a serviceable starter. They should pay him more off of his FIP then ERA. But a 2 year 24-30 million won't break the bank. I don't really see the need for another starter as we already have 5 maybe 6 starters for next season (Gray, Ryan, Mahle, Ober, Maeda maybe Winder), other than to give our prospects more time to develop and have more depth. Of SWR, Varland, Balazovich, Winder, Ober, and Paddack, we need at least 2 of these guys to be established as a rotation arm by next season. preferably 3. Hopefully Prielipp will be close to MLB ready after next season as well. Hopefully he is in AA at the end of the season.
  19. I thought it might be fun for the community to come together to help one of the Twins Pitchers. (Josh Winder, Trevor Megill, Pagan, or Lopez) become the pitcher he was meant to be. For us to do that we need members to post scouting reports, pitching repertoire, heat maps, and videos, and more below and discuss how we as a community would fix this pitcher to make him better. Whether you want to remove an ineffective pitch from his arsenal, add a pitch, change pitch use patterns, is he tipping pitches, or does he need to overhaul his delivery. Back it up with stats, and videos and stuff. Let’s really dive in and help a pitcher get back on track. For a few ideas, here are some after adjustment articles written by Parker Hageman and Nick Nelson. Let’s be the ones to help a pitcher figure it out with suggestions below for a change instead of waiting for management to try and we read another story that happened without our input. How The Twins May Have Contributed To Jorge López's No Good Very Bad Stretch - Twins - Twins Daily by Parker Hageman Or Let's Talk About Emilio Pagán - Page 2 - Twins - Twins Daily by Nick Nelson Lets get this started by figuring out who needs our advice the most. These 4 pitchers are still with the team and had the least success. 1. Jorge Lopez, 2. Emilio Pagan, 3. Josh Winder, 4. Trevor Megill
  20. This is a more normal offseason move for the Twins. We still need to sign fellow minor league contractor Minaya. But at least Coloumbe is more left handed of the two if we can only afford one of them in this crazy offseason.
  21. I would like to see pics of Correa in uniform for each of these teams/ Waffle House/ Fellowship of the Ring…..
  22. I didn’t mean right this minute but in the next year or two before they hit arbitration maybe Miranda, Ryan, Jeffers, I would do a 3-4 year extension with Arreaz now with an option year or two. Killeroff if he has a strong bounce back season. I would probably wait to see Lewis healthy the rest of this season and all of next before approaching him….
  23. Hopefully we start signing some of these younger guys to long term contracts like Atlanta has done. They have a great core in the starting lineup and they are locked up for the next 5+ years.
  24. I still think adding an 11th year at 20 million is not too bad. Inflation at 7% will half that in terms of value by then. If it gets the deal done…of course medical are the issue maybe make the last year contingent on one of a few scenarios 1. Pass a physical. 2. Get 400 plate appearances in year 10 or 850 in years 9&10. 3. Maybe have a 10 million buyout for the 11th year as well. Adding an opt out after year 5 or 6 if we need to be creative. I do think the Twins can get back in this. I think they should since they don’t really have a great option there. If they sign him and a solid bullpen arm it would be a successful offseason for the Twins. This would set the Twins up well in negotiations for the new TV contract. Payroll needs to go up with 14 teams over 200 million in payroll. We should at least be in the 160 million range.
  25. Being 41% better than the average player is typically an All Star. That was his end of season numbers.
