Should The Twins Make A Swap At Third Base?
Twins GFP replied to Cody Pirkl's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
1) Thank you for acknowledging the large amount of click-bait garbage floating through this site. I find it harder and harder to visit this site on a daily basis. 2) I was not trashing the "quality" of the article, rather the propensity to look at a player and rush to judgement based off of a small sample size. That is what is happening here. Does a 16 AB run really justify a demotion? Is Miranda truly fixed or just in the middle of a hot streak? -
Anybody that has played a team sport at a college level or higher knows that these guys basically live together 24/7 during the season. Conflicts are inevitable. When disagreements happen in public, the give people something to talk about. Good pitchers want the ball, regardless of the situation. Managers get paid to make these types of decisions. Players do not have to like it, but they do have to live with it. Based off of their public comments, they both know it and will continue to work on it.

Should The Twins Make A Swap At Third Base?
Twins GFP replied to Cody Pirkl's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
And the articles of over-reaction continue.... -
Not knowing enough of the health and strength of Kiriloff, the platoon may be an easy way of giving him days off when needed. This is made easier with Solano's success vs. LH. I suspect we will see him get more at-bats vs LH as time goes on, but right now this is one of the few things that is going right on offense this year. Not sure they want to rock the boat.

Twins 7, Brewers 5: A Twins Win to Remember!
Twins GFP replied to Steven Trefz's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
I think the FO and Rocco need to be fired. They got lucky to win and only a complete overhaul will save this season. (Sorry, I wanted to make sure that this article met the required negative response quota)- 51 replies

Opportunity Awaits Edouard Julien
Twins GFP replied to Cody Pirkl's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
A higher-end prospect, now MLB rookie, being inconsistent at the big league level. Should we really be surprised? Pump the brakes and show some patience here... -
What Do You Do With a Problem Like Miranda?
Twins GFP replied to Ted Schwerzler 's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Not rushing to judgement here, but Miranda may be that type of guy that could benefit from a change in organizations. Physical skill is only part of the equation. If Miranda (and/or the Twins) believe that the window is closing fast on Miranda, the mental aspects of the game may not be best for him here. With other guys in front of him stepping up right now, It would not surprise me in the least if Miranda is part of a deadline deal.- 62 replies

Should the Twins Try to Pull Off an Early Trade?
Twins GFP replied to Lou Hennessy's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
So you wouldn't enjoy a repeat of the 1987 Twins. Got it. -
Should the Twins Try to Pull Off an Early Trade?
Twins GFP replied to Lou Hennessy's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
So trading or moving seven of your primary offensive players is not a tear down? Sure would love to know what would define a tear down... I am all for improved offense on this team. It would help if the guys that are supposed to hit actually hit. You guys go on finding ways to destroy the team and the direction they are heading. I am going to enjoy our first place club and hope that Buxton and Correa figure it out soon. -
Should the Twins Try to Pull Off an Early Trade?
Twins GFP replied to Lou Hennessy's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
I had to stop reading the comments about halfway through. As usual, only extreme things will satisfy: 1) I don't know how anybody can complain about being in 1st place in your division. The Twins aren't in another division, they are in the Central. They are currently a playoff team with a top-end pitching staff. Pitching is what wins in the playoffs. 2) Questions are justified about the hitting approach, but to blame to FO for this current situation is not justified. Catcher, Shortstop (yes, a re-sign), and basically the entire bench were upgraded this offseason. The fact that most of the roster is underperforming is ultimately on the players. 3) I don't want to hear about Steer, Arraez, or Cano. Steer would never have supplanted Kiriloff in MN. Arraez is currently having an MLB-historic, career-type season. Cano was terrible in MN and needed a fresh start. Nobody saw these things coming, including the teams that received them.. 3) There may be things we don't know impacting performance. Buxton is DHing for a reason. Is Correa playing hurt? 4) Regardless of what is happening in the minors, Julien, Garlick, Miranda and Lewis are not exactly tearing it up with the big club this year. Why would you throw all of them into the fire when this team is fighting for a division crown? Wallner will get more opportunities as this year progresses, maybe he will stick. I would be open to trades, but who would you trade and what would you expect back in return? The Twins should not move any of their current pitching prospects, and the other prospects are not performing. They will not get much for anybody right now. -
Typical story of SP prospect flames out, discovers how to pitch effectively as a reliever. He is off to to a good start, lets see if he can maintain it.

The Twins Hot Corner Is Settled for the Future
Twins GFP replied to Ted Schwerzler 's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Thank you for making my point Seth. Be excited for Lewis. Be optimistic for Lewis. But don't fall into the hot-take trap of saying 3B is solved. Be better than that.- 47 replies

The Twins Hot Corner Is Settled for the Future
Twins GFP replied to Ted Schwerzler 's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
I realize this is a line of a discussion dragging us away from Royce Lewis, but I do want to respond to this. You talk about the general state of today's media as it's a good thing. The hot-take approach only feeds to divisiveness among people today. We see that here in the TD comments. Very little civil discourse, everything is attack, terminate, demand change. We need it yesterday and it better be "my way because my way is right". People watch SAS because he is a joke and everyone knows it. He is an accident on the freeway, everybody has to look. It is like watching a sitcom claiming to be news. TD chooses to post 5-10 pieces of content per day. Nobody is forcing them. This is the business model they have chosen. It started smaller, with more... affection for each article they posted. That is what brought readers like myself here. Now we get 7 articles a day retreading the same talking points. I have to hunt and fish through the repetitiveness, the hot-takes, (not to mention the unending stream of pop-up advertising) to find an article of substance. A study was done on Twitter a few years ago: Of all the users on Twitter, less than .2% were vocal active users. Every reaction to Twitter responses was pandering to less than .2% of the Twitter population, yet everyone treated this like general consensus. The vocal majority is not the same as the majority. I guess it really depends on what you are trying to achieve. I understand there is a fine line between providing quality content and pandering to the masses. FOX News and MSNBC may make money, but they are also the primary reasons contributing to all the hate in the country. If TD continues to go down this path, and chooses to follow the FOX News / MSNBC approach of less quality and more rousting just to provide content, I can think of at least one reader they will lose.- 47 replies

If anyone can give a truly honest answer to this question, they would be the highest paid coach in all of baseball. The MLB landscape is littered with players that were either bad or middling in multiple locations before showing up somewhere and killing it. Most top players can transcend organizations as their skills are strong. Many players need to be in the right culture, with the right attitude, and the right voices in their ear to be successful. Some AAA coach tells them to throw a new pitch that becomes electric or to change their hand placement on the bat to swing smoother. Hindsight is always 20/20 in these situations. Turn the page and move on.

The Twins Hot Corner Is Settled for the Future
Twins GFP replied to Ted Schwerzler 's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Did Twins Daily hire Stephen A. Smith? Has this website resorted to the hot-takes of ESPN to draw in viewers? Six games, 25 AB end everything is settled??? Why are we even seeing these types of articles? I expect better...- 47 replies

Starting to get some Shannon Stewart vibes from Royce Lewis. Let's hope he can be that same catalyst and keep this offense moving in the right direction.
