  1. I may have to show up just to get my hands on that Bombo shirt
  2. Wow, sensing a lot of misplaced anger in the room after a home series and a season series win. Not to mention that we have a better record than all but four teams in the League and are leading our Division. Can we be a little less harsh, at least until we're out of April?
  3. Sure it's a small number, but the club is just so much better in the four games Polanco has been back in the lineup. With Buxton, Correa, Larnach and Miranda all experiencing difficulties it is such a comfort to have his bat working.
  4. Ya left "wrasslin' skillz with runners on base" off yer list.
  5. He settled down after being advised to rely on his changeup, Faced just three batters after loading the bases with no outs, and threw exactly 50% of total pitches (12/24) for strikes in spite of those two hideous walks. Plenty of upside in that newly-minted 26-year-old. We can afford to see how he deals next game.
  6. We now have proof positive that the shift rule helps Kep. Last year those were three outs.
  7. There's no reason to draw a line between this season and last. We've seen enough outings from Pagan to know what to expect. When taking over for a teammate who showed the force of will to get the out after taking a line drive to the shin, keeping the losing margin from increasing is an obligation. If Pagan doesn't have what it takes to uphold that, he shouldn't be given the ball (and he should have the self-respect to admit it). It is difficult to fathom why a management team that made so many smart decisions in the off season could have blundered into a new contract with someone who demonstrated he is not "the guy."
  8. It's a fit - both have the same approach to their professions.
  9. Iron Man, for sure. First day out of the lineup today.
  10. It's time to work on your interviews. 😎 That 3-6-1 double play was pretty sweet.
  11. Waste of a brilliant 5-3 DP by Miranda, trying to keep it even. 4 hits in 32 AB. ☹️ Heartburn-inducing ugly. Slight taste of vomit in the back of my throat.
  12. The score might also have had something to do with it, pretty lopsided in favor of the Cheese Crew. That said, the man banged another double into the left power alley in the bottom of the 6th, OPS now .927.
  13. it's their "City Connect" uniform... Think "Space City" for the 'stros.
  14. Padres make him dress like an ice cream truck driver... Can't laugh at this 42-year-old's slash line, though: .290/.313/.548, as of the bottom of the 4th against the Brewers today
  15. Previously stated that this is the strongest lineup of pitching the Twins have had since the '60s. It is time to correct that: This is the deepest Twins pitching staff the club has ever had. Some of the hitters may be overperforming at the moment, but let's not look a gift horse in the mouth. Best April we've seen in a long time.
  16. "Daddy, why can't we have both Arraez and Lopez?" "Jimmy, you're old enough to know that we Minnesotans have to do without some nice things in order to enjoy our quality of life. No winning presidential candidates, no Super Bowls, no lineups loaded top-to-bottom with talent for us, no Sir. So snap on your bobber, bait your hook and be quiet, or the fish won't bite."
  17. Yes, but this is not available in the archive videos.
  18. We have not been this loaded with pitching since the '60s. The Manfred Man must go. That is all.
  19. Maeda pitched very well. Alcantra pitched even better. See ya again tomorrow for the rubber game. We should be watching each of Maeda's appearances as if it might be his last, and feel grateful for each fine outing he gives us.
  20. 2. Don Baylor,Kent Hrbek--October 24th, 1987.
