  1. The answer is obvious if you watch him decelerate after sprinting to first base, or try to get up after a slide. His knees and his hips would not be able to take the grind of constant movement that is required from the CF every time a ball is in play. If/when he is ever healthy enough, he will certainly be back in center again, but right now, DH is the way he gets to play almost every day, and that is what is best for him and for the ball club at this time.
  2. 1 for 3 with two walks today, sure beats a poke in the eye with sharp stick. OPS now over .700, but a few more to knocks to carry a team that desperately needs carrying would not go amiss. His one-hop, pirouette throw to Solano from deep in the hole at second was also a thing of beauty.
  3. Some positives to take away from a tough loss: Twins batters showed outstanding patience today, working at least 18 3-ball counts and drawing 9 walks (sadly, they were not rewarded for this approach - one might even say they wuz robbed) Conversely, Twins pitchers threw an aggregate 72.1 % of their pitches for strikes Carlos Correa is a monster in the infield; adds value by preventing runs, not just generating them
  4. Looks like the Giants have a few graduates from the Bill Buckner School of Infielding on their roster. 😁 Double steal of home was a treat to watch.
  5. After watching the circus in Toronto the past three days, I am convinced that robo-umps will still not prevent the Yankees from whinging over balls and strikes (and every nearly every other call). It's easy to envision Aaron Boone standing in front of one of the electronic eyes, banging his fist into his palm and screaming, "tighten it up!"
  6. Well, decidedly _not_ the pitching duel we were anticipating. 🤨 The dogs in the street have known for some time now that for all the raw ability in his arm, Emilio Pagan is somehow unable to package himself into an MLB reliever, even with sympathetic coaching. They are baffled, however, at Twins management's persistence in pursuing what nearly everyone else admits is a failed experiment. 🤔 To be fair to Pagan, his 2-1 pitch to Heyward on the high outside corner _could_ have been called a strike (and thus ended the inning a pitch later). The brutal truth is that umpires are not going to give any breaks to someone as inconsistent as he is, certainly not in Dodger Stadium. The jury is still out on the Twins inconsistent offense. Bring on the Angels.
  7. Studly outings by Ober, Stewart, Moran and Jax to spell the rest of our bullpen. Meanwhile, the offense continues to generate runs that wears theirs down (159 pitches last night, 75 more tonight). Looking forward to an intense series finale (and a win!) tomorrow.
  8. We can clink glasses on this while we watch Bailey Ober shut down the Dodger lineup today. Cheers!
  9. He also owns a WHIP or 1.07. Game logs are here. Better he's with the Twins than pitching against them.
  10. The HRs were given up by (Pedro) Lopez alone, and are no reflection on the rest of the team's performance. Lopez is a big, big reason why the Twins have been in first place since the season began. We can forgive him a rough day every now and then.
  11. There was a lot to like in spite of the loss: The Twins never lay down All starters but Gallo reached base at least once; multiple hits for Buck, Polanco and Vasquez Better BA (.265 v .244), OBP (.357 v .306) and RISP (4/17 v 2/12) than the Blu Boyz Twins hitters rogered the Dodger bullpen One steal and two successful pickoffs for the Good Guyz Take away Muncy's dongs and the Twins win.
  12. Does anyone remember the last time they saw back—to-back skunks by one ML team over another?
  13. Hope that hammy’s OK! The man is really smoking when he makes contact! One additional upside to having Gallo lead off - he can’t hit into a double play! 🤪
  14. All three of whom are performing more poorly than their three Twins counterparts. Looking forward to this series, more so if we keep hitting.
  15. No, Farmer would be (and is) at 3rd, with Lewis, Lee and Miranda (not necessarily in that order) behind him, and an expectation that Correa moves over there (arm!) later in his contract.
