  1. Now Prielipp is someone I can get excited about and I like him this high on the list!
  2. I have a hard time seeing Varland as more than a 4th or 5th starter at best....so he is too high on this list for me.
  3. This sounds like insanity! Are pitchers being coached to stress their arms and bodies beyond what is physically sustainable? I don't have any knowledge on the matter, just putting the question out there. Ummm.....yes
  4. Great defense but everyone will hate when he plays because we can't score runs and we lose 3-1. Where are Florimon and Simmons when you need them? Correa is going to need a rest once in a while as well...... Billy Hamilton wasn't available??
  5. VivaBomboRivera! 1,201 Verified Member Posted 13 hours ago One Gold Glove two years ago. Will be 32 years old this season. Should we be feeling more than a little underwhelmed? A LOT underwhelmed. We will all be complaining about why this light hitting outfielder is getting playing time over Walner, Larnach, and even Gordon. Gallo, Kepler, and Celestino can all play solid centerfield and not give up the at bat in the batting order. Heck,,,,even Gordon would be better. Terrible trade!
  6. Terrible trade! If you liked Pedro Florimon's bat and Andtrelton Simmon's bat...you will love this guy. Both players we gave up will pitch in the majors. Sisk this year and Cruz in 2-3 years(6'7"...he will figure out the strike zone in a few years.) Everyone will be complaining about why this guy is getting playing time when Walner, Larnach, etc should be playing. Heck...this guy makes Gordon look like a stud!
  7. A platoon of Garlick and Kepler would be a drastic improvement over Profar. Insert Gallo for Kepler....same!
  8. Ha.....if we had 5 Sonny Grays.......we would have been in the World Series last year......
  9. Quote h2oface 6,986 Verified Member Posted 2 hours ago “As the trade details came in, though, the trade was much more favorable to the Twins than anyone imagined, with the Twins not throwing in prospects of their own, but instead receiving multiple prospects.” Really? Anyone? Some, like me, don’t drink the Kool-aid. A batting champ for a number 3 starter, right handed starter at that, who had a number 5 second half, and a couple totally redundant hope a dreams? And a fan fav! And that is a good deal? I didn’t even drink and I have to get rid of what just came up out of my mouth. American League Batting Champ? The famous line from Princes Bride comes to mind: "You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means. Take a look at a batting champion like Manny Ramirez in the early 2000's Now THOSE would be batting champion numbers we could not afford to trade away. A short, slap hitting 1st baseman is not a recipe for success. I love the guy (Arraez).....but I also love this trade! Quote
  10. Arraez just didn't have a spot in the field. Slap hitting 1st baseman....not a recipe for success. Did I mention he is also a short first baseman. I'm sure he is an awesome teammate......but I love this trade!
  11. Lopez is still on his way up! Even close to the same improvement year to year and he will be our #2 starter at worst!
  12. So....Dman beat me to it. Parada's bat is the reason he was drafted. The Twin's drafted Lee 3-4 spots in front of Parada and has done nothing to disappoint. The Mets could try to move Parada to the outfield at some point but (see Lewis and Martin) to get a feel for how that might turn out. A player without a position can be a tough thing to manange. That being said, I don't think the Mets would entertain any of the other 4 players mentioned in a trade. Maybe if at least 2 of them were in a package.
  13. "That said, McCutchen is among the best clubhouse guys in baseball, and he certainly can make an impact from a veteran leadership standpoint." When you add the above sentence to an article, you are basically saying "I got nothing." How did "clubhouse guy" Carlos Correa impact the Twins the 2nd half of last season? It is all about the amount of talent you have on the team! McCutchen can have his farewell tour elsewhere.....which is ok....because he is a nice guy......
  14. I have a tough time seeing Balazovic in a Twin's uniform this year. He needs to consistently get his ERA below 4 in the MINORS.....before the Twins can consider a call-up. His numbers were horrendous last year. Let's hope he can use the 2023 season to re-establish himself!
  15. Very excited about Prielipp and to see his stats the first few games! (I'm sure the stats will be bad since he hasn't pitched in a long time.....but hopefully Nick can find something good in them! :)
  16. TY Nick! It can get tricky when you are talking asset versus prospect. I would always look at it as "how would another team value this guy." I am very high yet on Alex K but I can't imagine many other teams would be thinking positively after having the 3 "lost years".......so as an asset....... I can see why you don't have him ranked very high!
  17. I'm with Ted! Anything that could go wrong....DID go wrong last year.
  18. a poorer fielding Joey Gallo (with less pop in his bat.) Passing on this one....even if he was a free agent and you didn't need to trade anything for him........
  19. I am guessing you could use the first 120 games of Puckett's career or Tori Hunter's career to look worse than Joey Gallo as well.....
  20. The averages didn't go up .......when we got rid of Eddie Rosario??
  21. Larnach will be a part of the outfield! This list should mostly be installed by September 1st of 2023!
  22. If Mahle can turn back into ......Mahle,..... then this pitching staff can be solid. Maeda would be a bonus!
  23. I do like the way Vazquez frames his pitches. Last season, Sanchez literally caught the ball and then moved it to the strike zone.....instead of one smooth movement. The rest of the team (above) really isn't a change at all as far as the starters are concerned and good luck getting fair value for Gray and you won't get anything for Maeda.......so there really is nothing to work with here as far as a re-build is concerned unfortunately.
