  1. 40 minutes ago, JD-TWINS said: I didn’t like the trade for López……..have made the mental adjustment. Need pitching. Gotta move on…..saying Arraez clogs the bases as some further rationalization for his trade is nuts! After 3 games, he’s got as many hits as Correa, Buxton, & Gallo combined. You gotta be on base to be in the way…….it’s not Luis’ fault that Kepler sucks ……..no reason to hate on the batting champion of ‘22. Ha.......this is a WAY TO EARLY assessment of the trade. Arraez has been LIGHTS OUT for Miami and their record is 1-3. 2 of the 3 wins for the Twins can almost directly be attributed to the two players the Twins got for Arraez....Pablo Lopez and Gallo (first base replacement.) First base "is made" for a taller, power hitter......not a short, slap hitter. If the Twins didn't think he could play 2nd base.....he was expendable! LOVED the trade!
  2. This was clearly the weakness when the Twins gave up Arraez in the trade for Lopez. It would be nice to have someone step up by mid-season (Polanco, Julien, Lewis, etc.,) who could possibly fill the position. It is a punch in the gut starting the game off with Kepler or Gallo stepping up to the plate.
  3. Julien's homer yesterday.... cost him 4 strikeouts today. Probably trying to do too much......he will get it figured out!
  4. A very unproven Julien at 1st base......I wouldn't miss an at bat!
  5. Not sure if I was the only one.......my initial scroll thru the roster of the Saints........I don't feel all that confident....... (Part of that is probably because Ober didn't dominate like I thought he would!)(ONLY one game!!)
  6. The WBC will have the pitch clock in 4 years....if it is continued to be used in the MLB.......
  7. Your the best copy/paste NFL draft guy out there!
  8. A bounce back at 32....probably not. A defensive shortstop with his numbers....fine. Not a 4th outfielder. If Buxton get hurt and he has to play full time, I'm sure he will do a solid job in the field....but the Twins will be a 500 club and it won't matter anyhow.
  9. That was a copy/paste from immediately above. Just saying "players should make more money" without understanding the other side...is the problem. When MLB eliminates "A ball" in 3 years as a cost cutting measure, these same people will be complaining about it........
  10. This is how it works folks. A campaign contribution and it is quietly slipped into a massive spending bill and just like that... it's reality. But half the country doesn't understand that the expenses are now higher...., then ticket prices are higher, The same people will complain about the higher ticket prices. The only difference is that when the government does it........they raise our taxes.....instead of the ticket prices. I am not worried at all about spending Pohlad's money.......but you need to see the other side of the coin of...."hey, everybody gets paid more....."
  11. If Gray has 88 pitches going into the 8th inning with a 5-1 lead......he will keep pitching.....just like he did last year. If he is sitting on 94 pitches after 5 innings, the leash will be much shorter. If he is sitting at 65 pitches with one out in the 5th with guys on 2nd and 3rd with a 4-4 tie....then he will get yanked. Every major league manager would agree with the above information. None of this has really changed....in the last 20 years! Archer was certainly fine with only going 4 innings....he was just happy to have a contract. Archer knew his ERA would suffer even more if he started facing the same hitter for the 3rd time. History says they ALL suffer once they start facing the same hitter for the 3rd time......
  12. Twins should take another look at Sano. From what I hear, he is in the best shape of his life!
  13. .....comeback players Kepler and Gallo. The Twins would LOVE IT if just one of those two ends up qualifying as a "comeback player!!!"
  14. I think your Kepler "Sleeper" is based on 30-40 spring training at bats ....and not his MLB history. I am guessing if he hit .200 in those 40 at bats....he wouldn't be listed here.
  15. Sands has really done nothing yet to show he belongs in the majors. Coulombe has.....with the TWINS!
  16. Gray wasn't getting pulled after 4 innings when he had only 55 pitches thrown and was in control. He was getting pulled because his pitch count was already high after 4 innings and was struggling. NO ONE was pulled with a low pitch count and were in control. Once they started to struggle, Baldelli felt his bullpen would be more effective that the struggling starter.
  17. Mostly disappointed in Sano. If he would have put in the time and effort most other ball players put into keeping their body in professional shape.......he would still be a major contributor for the Twins!
  18. Larnach! I would like to say Julien......but....... even with injuries and a hot start in the minors, they won't/can't bring him up until thy get past the date where he gains a year on free agency. (end of April?)
  19. "Handing" a spot to Ober over a 35 year old coming off Tommy John surgery and currently struggling.......ummm.....yes! Nashville nailed it!
  20. Huh? Triston McKenzie is a stud and I will predict now he will be in the Cy Young conversation this year. Cleveland's top two are going to be trouble.....we need to hope the Twin's "bottom 3" are considerably better than Cleveland's "bottom 3!"
  21. The first year back from Tommy John RARELY results in a solid season. 35 yrs old and Tommy John surgery and half of TD thinks he should be written in INK ......as one of the top starting 5. This is why Ober should be there ......and Maeda should be slowly brought along. We can't (and shouldn't) cut Maeda, But expecting him to be like he was a couple years ago....... just isn't reasonable. I am still hopeful he CAN get back to that level later in the year!
  22. Is Pagan injured? I don't think he has pitched in over a week(?)
