  1. This is either the work of Randball Stu, or it is a lead in to his next great article.
  2. Once again another "low risk" move. The greater risk has been taken by this organization this off season as we head into the regular season. The greater risk being not taking any risks. This signing actually makes me feel less enthused about this club. Sorry.
  3. Fangraphs predictions suck. The Rangers win more than 82. The A's lose a lot more than 89.
  4. The league has opened up an investigation. As for gambling,it's reached some terrible levels in society. Our own state having promoted it for years and continuing to do so is disgusting at best. I watch people over and over buying many dollars worth of tickets at the convenience stores. Who are most of these people as a general rule? The less well to do of society is who. Those who can ill afford to lose the $50-$100 they will lose. Our own government is preying on its people. That's my opinion anyway.
  5. The Mariners made this trade believing they made a good trade. They do not feel as though they were fleeced. This is how I break it down: The Twins got Topa and cash for taking DeSclafani. I'm honestly convinced of that. The M's had no use for DeSclafani. The rest of the trade is Polanco for Gonzalez and Bowen. We will not know for a few years at least if this trade works out. But at the very least the FO was not honest. We were told that Polanco would not be traded for prospects but he was imo. And the SP that we were told was the highest priority ended up being Topa an RP.
  6. What's good for Rose should be good for Ohtani.
  7. MLB has problems. Lets see how they deal with Ohtani and 4.5 million of gambling debt that is being pinned on his interpretter. Any chance Ohtani is treated like Rose was? LOL
  8. I remember some St.Louis Cardinal teams from the early to mid eighties that were close to that. '85 they had Jack Clark who hit HR's. '82 they had George Hendrick who could. But they won a lot of games with pitching, defense, getting on base, speed and using Busch Stadium to their advantage. They were almost always last or near the bottom in HR's. But they were fun to watch. I don't enjoy watching a team strikeout 13 times in a game, even if they did hit 4 HR's.
  9. I see no reason Castro can't become a better player. This projection stuff has no value imo. It's all done on the field.
  10. We best hope that above average production continues from Lewis, Julien, etc, since we've decided that 1B is now a glove first position. I would be fine with Santana getting the 40-45 starts against LHP and being a late inning defensive sub. He should not be everyday at this point in his career.
  11. Rich has hinted that he doesn't feel up to a full season. Which may explain why he is still available. Sign him up, activate him sometime in later June and see what you have. That may fit in great with our needs anyway. SWR and Headrick are likely our first fallbacks. I'm good with that. Then Festa.
  12. Michael Lorenzen is still available. He would be the best depth option available on the open market. I don't see Snell or Montgomery as 2024 Twins. Otherwise, SWR, Headrick and Festa are the best in house options as I see it. I would like to see SWR and Festa this season.
  13. Obliques can be bad.I pulled one over 8 years ago. Led to Sciatic issues. Which every so often ever since flares up.
  14. Prayers are not such a bad thing. Aching shoulders, elbows and wrists takes a whole lot of the good things out of life.
  15. idk,is it just my imagination or have Pitcher injuries escalated to a whole new stratosphere this season already?
  16. I think Ober is going to be better this season. With a but. But we will be needing to keep his IP down. He's been talking 200 IP. I say keep him down to 140, and healthy and effective. Ryan? He imo has hit his high water mark. He'd be a decent 4 or 5 guy but should be no higher. I have little confidence in Paddock staying healthy tbh. Buxton scratched today due to his back. Byron is not to be relied on. Margot is not a CF for a contender. DeSclafani on the DL. At least Varland gets his chance. Duran and Thielbar on the DL. W/o these guys are Pen is ho hum.
  17. Complaining and whining? How about if you converse without insulting? Be decent. Neither complaining or whining was in any of my posts. Here's some concrete numbers: Between the Twins, Cle, TB and Oak they have went a combined 167 seasons without a WS title. In those 167 seasons you have 7 WS losses. The last WS win was by the Twins in 1991. This isn't success. Not the success I want anyway.
  18. Maybe one that has won a WS? In case you haven't noticed the Twins are going on 33 years. The Rays are going on 27. I believe those amazing Money Ball A's go back to 1988 or 1989. Cleveland I'm not even interested in looking up, it's been awhile. Division titles are held up as greatness only for those org's that are not serious about WS titles.
  19. I'm not convinced of the Pen either. Other than Duran we have guys with a very short history of success. Stewart has last years all of 27 IP. Topa is 33 y/o and 1 good season. Jackson a few good IP last year. Projections mean nothing.
  20. This is a great point. In 26 seasons the Rays have won 100 games once.4 division titles. And this is who we want to emulate?
