  1. Pirates sign Michael A Taylor. 1/4. I would have preferred MAT over Margot at that price. smh
  2. Miranda is blocked. By a 38 y/o with one average season in the past 3 or 4 seasons. I'm encouraged by his spring, and I'm sure he is too.
  3. DeSclafani has looked great hasn't he? Give the ball to Varland and don't look back. Ober might soon be giving Pablo Lopez a run for his money as staff Ace. He too looks good, just might want to keep the innings down a bit.
  4. It's going to be the Orioles for the next decade. They are already rock solid and will only get better and better. Elias is solid and will make the right moves imo to take them to the next level and beyond. The Twins? As stated in the article they dialed back this off season when they should have turned on the after burners. Sorry but DeSclafani, Santana and Margot are the signings of a rebuild. Not ateam that takes Championship aspirations seriously. We'll win some games this year. But so will Detroit. Going to be close.
  5. The Oakland Raiders started playing in the Colliseum in 1966 through 1981. Moved to LA and back to Oakland. As far as attending the series? Probably a ton of great seats available, if there is a great seat in that dump. But no, I've been to Oakland with no plans of ever returning.
  6. Yes. More. Something like soccer's World Cup. Break the teams up into pools and have a few mini tournaments.
  7. Kyle Farmer is not an option at SS, other than once a week or so. If he's at SS over 20-25 games then we are in trouble. Just my opinion. Correa needs to give us 4 plus WAR. 145 games. 25 plus HR/80 plus RBI.
  8. Well I can't even spell his name, let alone hit him. WOW
  9. Mick Jagger is still with us too, and just a few short years ago was still fathering kids with his much younger wives. He now has 8 kids, I'd say his pitches have been pretty effective too.
  10. Who am I looking forward to seeing take the field. Lee. Jenkins and EmRod. Lets see what our top guys have,
  11. To be honest I hadn't not even heard of Christomo and a couple other of the pitchers. Should be a fun exercise. GL
  12. I'm 55 and still young. My sage wisdom to the "younger" guys on here, the "older" you get the more good looking women there are. Take that one to the bank.
  13. I don't know much, but what I do know is Royce Lewis is our 2024 3B. A team can't have too many good players and the FO knows this. When Lee is ready they will find a place for him to play along with Julien.
  14. Paddock has managed to pitch 27 innings in 2 years with the Twins. As far as I am concerned he needs to prove it. Until he actually does my confidence in him will remain low. I mentioned Ober too. Bailey it has been mentioned wants to go for 200 IP this season. I hope he does. But an ML season takes a hard demand on both the physical and mental and it would not surprise me if he falls short of or only equals last seasons 145, in spite of his good intention. Sorry if my comments seem negative, but until I'm shown otherwise I will go by the track record that they have given me to go by.
  15. Festa will be up this season. Lets put it this way, I have zero confidence in DeSclafani pitching over 40-50 innings. Paddock? Maybe a few more. Maybe not. Ober? At some point I would guess that he too will need to be dialed down. Varland and SWR I would project as the first replacements. Should they falter Festa should be near the top of who would be next in line.
  16. On a somber note, former KC SS U L Washington passed away yesterday. He Managed/coached at a Twins affiliate in 2001 and in 2002.
  17. If they want to sign a guy to an milb at this point, no big deal. It would have made more sense to do so 4 weeks ago though, ST is now half over. As far as the FA's go,not one is worth any excitement. But if DeSclafani isn't ready by April 06 I say go with Varland, with SWR and Headrick backing him up.
  18. I'm not going to differentiate between ownership and the FO. Their one and the same as far as I'm concerned. So I grade it at D+. The bottom line is the team has not been improved and I can't with any honesty tell myself or anyone else that they did. Santana is not better than Polanco. DeSclafani is not better than Gray. Margot is not better than Taylor. Topa may or may not be better than Pagan, jury is out on that. I use the word "better," bottom line is these new players are not as good. I think they will once again win the division, but instead of widening the gap with the competition they allowed it to narrow. We put all of our eggs into the Lewis, Julien, Jeffers and Wallner will be as good or better basket. And into the Buxton and Correa will be healthy and good basket. The moves we made are the same type of moves we made in 2013 when we were a last place team. That's my opinion.
  19. These frickin beetles are everywhere. I'd be happy to share some with you if you are running short.
  20. More optimism: Buxton had his 2nd stint today in CF this spring. Royce Lewis back to his old tricks today: Grand Slam.
  21. Twins . com is telling us that both DeSclafani and Thielbar are behind and dealing with injuries in camp. That could bring Varland and Funderburk north sooner than later. Of course injuries will occur elsewhere as well.
  22. There will be a tremendous amount of talent in AAA as we start the season. So on the position side of things I think it will be who has the hot hands coming out of the gate as we head through April and into May. Also it will be limited to only injury callups early on. Vazquez, Farmer, Santana and Margot would have to be very bad to lose a job imo. But if Larnach for example shows that he has improved his game I could see him being called up over any of Miranda, Lee and Martin. He too would very likely have to be filling in for an injury. I see Funderburk, or another BP guy being the first callup. Varland? He also will be called up for injury. I see DeSclafani, or Paddack, needing to be very bad to lose their spot. I feel a little for Varland. Did nothing to lose his job. SWR should get a chance sometime later in the season too.
