  1. I saw that we were also playing Northeastern University today. So it really is, "Lets play two!"
  2. It will be an interesting camp and early season. I really want to see where Martin is at, and at the same time Larnach. I haven't given up on Trevor just yet.
  3. I would like to see the club focus on Martin and not Michael Taylor or Adam Duvall.
  4. They have shown that the bottom line of making a profit is at the top of their list of priorities. Winning a WS is secondary. I honestly could care less how much money they do or don't make. But their talk and actions show what they are most serious about. That is what has dictated how serious I have been about my fandom.
  5. Yep. Like during that pandemic, big box stores are allowed to be open while Mom and Pop stores are forced to shutter. While Amazon, who MLB now wants to be in bed with, makes trillions upon trillions. Now that the trillions have dried up to mere billions and billions after they have pilfered the public they do massive layoffs. They no longer need these people and pay them 18 bucks an hour. Now that the corps own America, have fun.
  6. I was around for Calvin too. He didn't have mega millions backing him up. He couldn't afford to lose 5 million on a season. I get it, most didn't like Calvin. I neither like or dislike him. But lets also be fair. The situation each owner faced is not the same.
  7. I think this is 100% accurate. I think they are going with DeSclafani and youth. Varland, and he should get every oppurtunity. Not that I personally wouldn't want Montgomery if the price was right, I would. I long advocated for Ryu but he has now went back to Korea. Let's hope we see the 2021 DeSclafani version.
  8. I actually liked the Vazquez signing and still do. It certainly shouldn't be though of as a signing that hamstrings the club financially, though that has been portrayed as such this off season. I still hope that Vazquez can provide more value on the field this season. I still like signing him more than I do/did Correa. Why? Two clubs backed out on Correa and in all honesty Carlos was not really that good last season so the jury is still out imo that maybe the other clubs were right. There again we have to hope that wereceive more value on the field in 2024. As for this FO in FA? Yeah they suck. Why? Maybe it has to do with the type of players they sign. Bundy,Archer, Gallo. Addison Reed imo was a good try. Jason Castro way back when is probably their best value thus far.
  9. Been virtually none this year, so yeah if there are none the next couple of years I'd guess that we will be OK with it. Staumount and Jackson are about it this year. Santana was signed with Polanco savings, almost to the penny.
  10. 100% agree. The short-sightedness that you speak of is why the good teams of the 2,000's never became great teams that had a legitimate chance of winning the WS. We are once again playing the same game.
  11. It continues to amaze me at how many are willing to defend Twins ownership. This owner can well afford the same payroll as last season. More than. He can afford the arb increases next season. There were legitimate FA's available which would have legitimately improved this team, still actually are a couple. But Pohlad's are simply greedy for the all mighty dollar. I'm not accusing the FO of lying, but corporate greed is obvious.
  12. I agree, I also want it all. But from a GG SS I consider .240 still generally acceptable. Unless it is our present SS Correa. He needs to hit .275 with 25 HR and 85 RBI, because of the investment of 33million in 2024. We need more than good D and .230 again.
  13. Expect to see power hitting OF Yandro Hernandez towards the top of this list in a year or two.
  14. I would be disappointed if he isn't a call up to the ML team in September of 2025. At the least.
  15. A guy that can hit .300 and hit 35 plus HR's who could play every IF and every OF position. And play them all at an All Star level. Imagine that kind of player. Royce could be that player.
  16. Not to mention Winokur and J Rod further down the pipe. Both of these are also very intriguing prospects.
  17. I see Julien also played about 20 games in the OF in A ball. He hasn't been back to the OF. Does anybody know how he performed as an OFer? Since the team hasn't pursued it, was he bad there? As for Lewis,no doubt he would be very good in the OF as he is where ever he plays. I guess my one and only concern for him as an OFer would be the holdup of his knees. He too has a few games in the OF under his belt.
  18. My prediction is Brooks Lee will become a permanent Twin in mid to late June. Once the team admits that Carlos Santana is done. Brooks got over the hump in AAA in September and will prove by the end of May that he has nothing more to prove and is ready for the ML. By early August E Rod will show the same as Brooks and be brought up after Kepler is traded away. Good times ahead for Twins position prospects. Now to get that pitching pipeline unclogged.
  19. The 172 days is in regard to the 26 man roster correct? Not the 40 man roster? So in what way is E Rod's clock ticking at this point? In his case he is only using up an option. Correct? But not accruing service time towards arb and FA.
  20. Why not be aggressive with all 3 of our top prospects? I would be disappointed if Lee and E. Rodriguez are not at least late season callups with both of these guys being on the 2025 opening day Twins roster. Lets also see Jenkins in St.Paul late season too.
  21. Jose Rodriguez is my darkhorse candidate to be on this list for 2026. We will have a very good OF for 2027. Wallner, Winokur, E Rodriguez, J. Rodriguez, Jenkins. Buxton will be an All Star type backup for 75 games. Wow.
  22. Jenkins will arrive at Target in mid-season of 2025, to join E Rod in the Twins OF. E Rod makes it in the latter portion of this season.
