  1. It honestly doesn't matter how anyone does this spring. The roster is set. Do your reps. Go to AAA and wait for an injury.
  2. Kiriloff's bat is elite. Of course when healthy. However, he hasn't yet proven himself to be "injury prone." I want to see that bat in the lineup as much as possible in 2024. We will be a better team because of that. My bet also is that he will prove to be at least league average with the glove. Maybe even better. Santana can play a role on the team. But if its a starring one my bet is that means the team will be a worse one.
  3. He has an opinion. I can't say I disagree with him at all on Margot. We didn't need him. As for the Miller Doncon swap, I liked Miller a lot too. I don't like losing him. I hope Doncon makes good on this deal.
  4. Thanks. Doncan is a good get. He's what we hoped for with the loss of Miller.
  5. I'm fine with the prospect we received in Doncan. That doesn't mean that I have to think well of Margot. Imo he's a mehhh player. I for one wanted to see if we had a player in Martin and give one more shot to Larnach. Now we have those guys blocked. I hope the deal works.
  6. For all of the talk about how healthy Buxton is he has yet to make an appearance in the first 4 exhibition games. Yes I know they are exhibitions. Still. Other regulars have appeared. Just a bit concerning to me.
  7. One other question I have on this trade, does this throw some doubt on the health of Buxton at all? As I recall we acquired Taylor late off season as well and he ended up being our CF. I hope Buxton is well. Always seem to use the word hope with Buxton.
  8. Also makes you wonder how little they think of Martin too at the same time.
  9. What ever happened to her, did you keep up with her? That's sad. Yeah, LAD seems to usually come out on top in these deals.
  10. Martin and Larnach are now AAA and delegated to injury replacements I can assume.
  11. I really liked Miller. I don't care about any cash. Margot has not ever been that much of a hitter. So so. I hope the prospect is good. Sorry to see Miller gone.
  12. First of all, forget about 200 IP Bailey. Give us 165 solid IP again and that is plenty enough. Get us to the WS and you'll add another 25 or so on top of that. As for Ashby that is a very poor comp imo. Bailey has actually been good an has pitched. Ashby has not. I would venture to say that Ober will reach 20 million in his 3 years of arb alone. As for buying out 2-4 years of FA, he knows that meh SP are getting 12-14 mil per season, like Ashby. I doubt that he would sell those off too cheaply though. 7/75
  13. Carl Pohlad got his start by foreclosing on poor farmers during the Depression. What a great legacy to leave behind.
  14. Other than Jordan Montgomery, there isn't an FA that gives me the least it of interest at this point. Lets roll with who we have in the org. Enough of the FA conjecture. A trade between now and opening day is far more likely and useful maybe than what is left on the FA heap.
  15. How about NO. Lets see what we have in Martin. Lets see what we already have in the organization. Someone like Hernandez should not take PT away from other guys, including in ST. It's time to grow up as an organization.
  16. Glad to see Varland not falter and get out of the 1st inning jam with no damage done. He needed to throw some extra pitches anyway.
  17. I don't know if I'd want the last name of my SP to be Falter. I wouldn't want my pitcher to Falter.
  18. This is a very good post. Fair, objective and accurate. Kiriloff is one of the very best hitters on this team. Plain and simple, when healthy. Personally though it would make me gag if Kiriloff were traded for a back of the rotation piece or a filler piece, which is likely AK's present value, while we carry 38 y/o Santana on the team.
  19. Kiriloff is an MVP type of hitter. But he does need to stay healthy and on the field. It would be a poor move to deal him when value is low. We are at the point of letting him burn out entirely or reaping the reward of his talent. My vote is to keep him. Unless you get a TOR SP for him, which you would not get today.
  20. I saw that we were also playing Northeastern University today. So it really is, "Lets play two!"
  21. It will be an interesting camp and early season. I really want to see where Martin is at, and at the same time Larnach. I haven't given up on Trevor just yet.
  22. I would like to see the club focus on Martin and not Michael Taylor or Adam Duvall.
  23. They have shown that the bottom line of making a profit is at the top of their list of priorities. Winning a WS is secondary. I honestly could care less how much money they do or don't make. But their talk and actions show what they are most serious about. That is what has dictated how serious I have been about my fandom.
