  1. I am fine with Miranda being the primary 1B this season. But with Santana now gone chances are Falvey/Zoll will react, and maybe not in a good way. Has Zoll started his job as GM yet? I am beginning to wonder.
  2. Of the mentioned Joe and France have the most to offer. Bell and Solano could play a role. But without a trade none can happen. By the time this occurs none will likely remain. Other teams also have needs and I see Solano as the only one this team might be able to muster the $$$$ for. Rowdy here come the Twins!!
  3. They have to make a trade first before they can sign anybody unless it's an ST invite, who will only take AB's away from the kids.
  4. Rickey Henderson passed away. Crap. One of my all-time favorite players. The man had a winning attitude to go along with his immense talent.
  5. I would be ticked to make this move to appease this years "budget."
  6. I'd like to not trade Lopez, but if the offer is overwhelming it should indeed be considered. And yes this FO has made some good trades. As far as a trade goes, you wouldn't expect to get a Lopez back for Lopez. Maybe the acquisition could replace Lopez in a few years but not now. With that said it would be frustrating as a fan to see us take a step back at a position that we struggled with for years, many years.
  7. On a milb deal? Sure. If he surprises in the spring you can upgrade him to league minimum. Maybe we should see what's left on the carcass of Jose Abreu too while we are at it.
  8. With the QO in place we essentially have Ryan for four years. His best years. I don't think an extension is on the radar from the Twins. And yeah after four more years we should have replacements on board who will have experience by then.
  9. Reports out today that the Twins have been listening to trade offers on Lopez. I think it would be a mistake to trade Lopez but I'm open depending on the return. If it isn't making us better in 2025 and beyond why continue on this merry go round?
  10. Max Kepler just signed with Philly. We could have used him. 1/10
  11. I like Luzardo, I mean who doesn't like his talent. But I'm not trading Keashell for Luzardo at this point.
  12. My bet is Miami is trying to sell Luzardo at the two season ago price. I would love to have Luzardo, problem is he's had one healthy complete season in 6. I'd also hate to give up Keashell for 20 subpar starts over the next two seasons. What is his salary for 2025?
  13. The team is on a budget, in a budget crunch and for sale. I don't see this happening.
  14. As for the idea of trading Castro for Canario, No. No to trading Castro at all unless he's part of a bigger trade that nets us a legitimate starting catcher. Castro is an everyday player who brings a number of different things to the table. If we are struggling in Mid to late July, that is the time to trade Castro.
  15. Yeah lets trade a valuable everyday player for a lesser player. That would be creative. Just so this isn't misinterpreted, I'm being very sarcastic.
  16. I think this sums up the feelings of most. But in all fairness to the Falvey regime they are not pure dumpster divers like Ryan was after he took over for Bill Smith. I would hardly call Addison Reed, Nelson Cruz, Kenta Maeda, Josh Donaldson and Carlos Correa dumpster dives. The problem is that is where they stop. They make a good acquisition or two and then don't go for the pieces that will put them over the top into a different level. This is also remindful of the Twins teams of the 2,000's. They could have been very good, WS contenders, instead they settled for winning a division. This would appear to be an ownership problem. So I also welcome a change. The sooner the better. Not at all worrying about a team moving in 20 years.
  17. I'm a firm believer in ethics and integrity no matter whether rich or poor. So that is a concern. But also innocent until proven guilty.
  18. So what are the terms you see being agreed upon by Sasaki. Not asking which team but the terms. Amount I can presume is all of the teams pool money. How many years is typical for the top IFA?
  19. In the past I have advocated for an extension for Royce. Not now. He has to prove he can stay healthy.
  20. Hard choices. Who do you leave out? But I will go with Mack and Harper as top choices. Both gave us nothing but positives as Twins. But I will also add Smalley. He was solid for us on some mediocre to poor Twins teams. But lastly he got us Gagne in trade. Granted that is off the field but it's a plus for him. Tough to leave Bruno out.
  21. When change occurs you don't get on a soapbox and pronounce, "I've changed!" "Look at me," You do it moment by moment, a decision at a time. And still make mistakes.
