    Has he improved or has he just gotten healthy?? Hard to tell.....

    The biggest concern for me is that few if any hitters are improving under Popkins.....guys that are supposed to be proven major league hitters like Farmer, Vazquez, Santana, Buxton and to a lesser extent Castro look absolutely clueless right now. Julien has taken a step back. Wallner looked lost. The only guy that you could say has improved is Jeffers. There is something fundamentally wrong with the approach the team is taking right now, and that comes from the hitting coach.

    I'll place big $$$ on Okert not getting this save....Rocco's bullpen management is bizarre.

    Just think you've got to have a closer (or a guy who's done it before) in the 9th. You want to bring in Holt in the 7th? Fine. Than Okert in the 8th. The 7th seemed to be the better matchup for a lefty pitcher. It worked, so Rocco will continue to do it. Question for you....does Rocco pitch run for AK if it's a 1 run game???? I think so because his moves all seem to be pre-determined. If the Brewers tie that game up, we have Austin Martin looking for his first MLB hit in the 10th instead of a guy having a career day and the hottest hitter on the team.

    It worked.....but there is a HUGE difference getting 3 outs in the 9th versus the 7th. That's why closers make so much $$$$$$. The insurance run in the 8th was nice, but Okert was coming in regardless. He walks the first guy and got behind the second guy before getting a gift strike. If that game is closer, his butt-cheeks are tightening....I guarantee it. In addition, the 7th inning was 8-9-1 for the Brewers including at least one left-hand hitter (maybe 2???). It makes way more sense to bring in Okert there.....I'm sorry but Rocco drives me nuts (PH for Julien, Pitch-running for AK on 3rd base). Rant over LOL

    So is Jax coming out for a 2nd inning??? If so, he's probably unavailable for the home opener? Or are you going to let someone with no closer experience try to get 3 outs in the 9th? That's why i don't understand the Stewart move in the 7th?

    Wow....what a freaking play by Correa.....played a ton of 1st Base in my life and that type of catch running away from the infield is so difficult.....

    Man....that smile on his face as he rounded first was a look of pure joy/relief.......can't imagine what he's been going through.

    You really think that Kepler had any trade value? He's had one above average half of baseball in the last 5 years.....he might have gotten you a class A pitcher with upside.....

    I'm sure Margot bunted on his own.....still don't think it was enough to be overturned Does the ball still have to be in the back of the glove to indicate it's caught? I still think it was a dumb move pitch hitting in the 4th inning. We are hitting in some bad luck right now too. Castro and Jeffers both smoked balls right at the outfielders. I didn't think Paddock was bad. Some bad luck too. Two squibbers back to him went for hits. Watching Hoskins swing the bat and make scoops at first, knowing we could have had him instead of Santana is painful.

    Way to early to tell....I immediately thought one of those ACL's popped by how he jammed his foot into the base. A quad injury is probably the best possible alternative.

    Someone want to whisper to Rocco that Duran is not available??? How's he going to get 3 innings out of this bullpen? Stewart warming up and about to come in the 7th????? Who's closing? Jax? Who's got the 8th? Grrrrr. It's only game 1.

    If you pull a hammy (from personal experience and observations) you are grabbing at the muscle. He was flexing his leg. I just hope it's not one of those knees....
