  1. This. I was going to post almost the same thing. Crazy that I was still nervous in a 6-0 game in the 8th inning when the Sox put 2 guys on base vs. Rogers. This bullpen is incredibly weak and the Twins won't continue to blow teams out. There will be numerous stretches where we will blow late leads and saves because of a lack of talented arms. That being said, I'm enjoying the heck out of this run. Watching the Sox (and their payroll) look utterly defeated and deflated the last 2 nights has been so much fun.
  2. I'm being mostly serious here......Rocco pulls Mick after five if he was still managing.
  3. Those are all plays/scoops that a major league first baseman should make. The throw from Gray was a high-school level pick. The throws from Lewis were tougher but still should have been caught. The Twins seem to think you can put any live body at first base and it won't matter.
  4. Did you mean the 3rd out or did he also make a 1st out at 3rd base???? It's crazy that I have to ask this, but the way the Twins run the bases, I'm not so sure.
  5. Did you watch the game?? 1st inning double legit 2nd inning single between 2nd and third....hit hard....a foot either way and it's an out. 2nd inning....are you upset he got a ground ball double play??? LMAO---it was a jam shot. if that was 100 mph, better check your radar gun. No freaking way. 3rd inning---Durbin's hit was a borderline bleeder that hit off Royce's glove. Again....watch the game. The radar gone is ridiculous. 3rd inning IKF opened up on a curve and muscled it over Lee's head. He looked to mistime his jump. It wasn't hit hard. Take the radar gun and stick it.
  6. Oh man.....that made me think of Nishioka. I remember we actually won a bidding war for the right to sign him. I thought he was gonna be the next Ichiro...LOL
  7. Kenny Powers..... He needs to start screaming "YOU'RE F'IN OUT" after a strikeout.....LMAO
  8. Best part of that is seeing the hitters he struck and seeing how silly he made them look......Harper, Schwarber, Castellanos, etc.....the stuff is real.
  9. Agreed that the results haven't been there, but it's not because of a lack of spending/trying.... Wild signed Parise/Suter and "went for it"....those contracts were record-setting at the time and all of us fans were ecstatic. It didn't work. No comparison between he and Pohlad family....
  10. Damn....I wish I had the time to go back and look at the reaction most on here had when we signed France last year. Vast majority said he was a terrible first baseman and were lamenting the loss of Santana. Let's face it...you can't please most on here. The Twins made a signing for a switch hitting 1B/DH who hit over 20+ homers last year and is known by our manager. If it's the only signing they make, that would suck. But it's not a bad start.
  11. The Milwaukee Brewers spend less money than the Twins....they develop young players like no other team and play them through struggles. The run and play defense. They have been consistent winners even after losing Counsel. Doesn't Rickie Weeks make sense??? Clearly the #2 guy on Murphy's staff.
  12. They can't possibly with a straight face hire Toby G right???? The Saints had a worse record than the Twins did.......SMH
  13. I will take some of what the Brewer's got cooking..... Give me Rickie Weeks....
  14. I can see Sechrist carving out a role someday as. a left hander out of the pen. He's very crafty and the changeup at Tennessee was a great pitch for him. I'm hoping he can turn into a Coulombe type.....
  15. Huh? You mean he didn't retire because he wasn't getting to DH and play 1st base? He didn't prefer being a realtor to being a major league baseball player???? Color me shocked......
  16. I don't get the point of the article pointing out Royce's homerun celebrations....i don't think they're anything out of the "ordinary" in today's game.... And he's playing in front of friends and family in his hometown for the first time.....cut him some slack.
  17. I'm speaking in hyperbole.....(look. it up). What makes no sense with this organization is trading away your entire bullpen including Louie Varland with multiple years of team control. What makes no sense is having guys like Keirsey, Gasper, Fitzgerald (and 90% of your bullpen) on your active roster. What makes no sense is using your September call-ups on Kiersey and Adams instead of seeing what guys like Fedko could do, while playing a guy like Clemons at 1B (he is what he is) instead of giving a guy like Sabato a chance. My point being is I have ZERO confidence in this organization even doing the right thing with a top draft choice the way it's currently being run....and that is coming directly from the owners.
  18. I understand the theory that most teams use for underslot. The way this team is currently run, they will draft the cheapest prospect available and pocket the money., rather than spend it later on.....
  19. On second thought, I wasn't wrong on Adams.....
  20. Yep...I'm wrong. He's the next Rollie Fingers. Seriously....it is bizarre with these fringe guys that every once in a while you will see them in an outing and say......"hey, maybe he doesn't suck". Hatch, Briske, Adams, Funderburk.....
  21. You can't seriously be comparing the 20 year old Walker Jenkins with the 28 year old Deshawn Kiersey???? You can't. SMH
