  1. I just have a hard time believing Miranda would not be on this roster, or that his spot was ever in jeopardy. When healthy, the dude can hit. I don't care about exit velocity or other metrics, Anyone who gets hits in 12 consecutive AB's in the major's can hit.
  2. So bizarre....he's pushing 50 pitches and clearly out of gas....
  3. Castellanos is a rule 5 guy, right? If so, that's a real nice arm that they're going to have to make a tough call on.
  4. You've got to be kidding me? Zebby hurt? WTH just happened? Yankee broadcasters too busy interviewing another Yankee to bother.....
  5. Isn't this the ESPN crew? Didn't know they were the Yank's broadcasters...
  6. Two things showing MASSIVE Yankee bias today: 1. ABS---umps gotta hate it. 2. Announcers are about to cry when things don't go the Yanks way.....everyone of the homers the Twins hit are wind-aided and "dumped over the wall"....while Judge's flyball to left was knocked down by the wind. LMAO
  7. I laughed at blaming Cole for the challenge.....ball wasn't even close to being a strike. LMAO--sad that the Yankees won't be able to get called on getting all the calls during the regular season.
  8. I'm gonna disagree slightly......it's more than a "stupid mistake". And a 22 year old is not a kid anymore. He intentionally impacted the integrity of a professional game....it's very akin (IMO) to betting against his own team. He deserves to be banned.....
  9. I understand all of this and i also understand the concern with his age.....but don't even try to compare the Twins and Wolve's ownership in terms of willingness to spend money. Money and spending has never been an issue for Taylor....it has ALWAYS been an issue for the Pohlads. Your history of the Wolves is accurate but I don't blame that entirely on ownership. Granted he hired incompetent management (David Kahn, anyone?)....but he was willing to spend on players and coaches. They were also incredibly unlucky with the lottery early on and had a generational duo who couldn't play together because Marbury was jealous of KG. As to Taylor's age? I can see a scenario where he wants to go out on a high and try to out-do AROD etc....and the biggest thing??? ANYTHING WOULD BE BETTER THAN THE POHLADS!!!!
  10. Just asking......but why would that be so bad? He'll have money from the sale of the Wolves.....spending wasn't the problem for the Wolves, bad management was. He signed KG and let him bring in his boys (a big mistake). He signed Joe Smith to a big deal (another mistake)....but spending money was not the problem.
  11. I forgot about Moran....he had some dominant stretches as a reliever....he's also had stretches where he can't throw strikes. He's an interesting piece to fill the left-handed reliever role....
  12. I, for one, thought the back thing was minor, probably an excuse for poor performance at the plate. I apologize. I was never so sure of a prospect in my 40 years of fandom as I was with AK. Kept telling my sons Ihe would eventually be a .300 hitter with 25 HR power on a consistent basis. Such a pure, smooth left-handed swing. Injuries suck.
  13. Let me preface this by saying, I LOVE Nelson Cruz....he was one of my favorite Twins and I loved watching him swing the bat. That being said, he was caught using steroids and to his credit admitted the mistake. I just don't see the Twins, with their conservative approach, hiring a hitting coach with that in his past.
  14. I have never in my life seen a team go into a complete slump for over a month to end a season. Literally, not one player outside of maybe Correa, was not in an absolute funk. Even veterans like Santana looked clueless at the plate. And, seemingly Popkins had no answer at all. He had to go. i said it previously that he would be fired to appease the fans, but it was also absolutely necessary. Is there a Twins hitter that seemingly got better under Popkins? Wallner...maybe. Larnach...maybe. Are there Twins hitters who have regressed/gotten worse under Popkins? Julien, Lee, Lewis, Miranda, Jeffers, Vazquez, and AK (?) I hope it works.
  15. On the radio broadcast Friday...Gladden seemed to be a little critical of Max being "no where to be found" on German appreciation night at Target Field. He made a comment about Max should've/could've thrown out the first pitch, but he was not around. Gladden muttered "C'mon Max". Maybe it was tongue in cheek but he sounded serious.
  16. 91----RIGHT DOWN THE MIDDLE----NO CONTACT
  17. I'm a bit sympathetic because he's gutting it out, but if Correa hustles on that, he beats it out.....
  18. Bringing in a guy that pitched his 1st MLB inning of the year last night with the bases loaded seems like a bold move Cotton.........
  19. My bad..... Bunt like you have played baseball before and have a clue....... I should've been more specific.
  20. Each team is trying to one-up the other on poor baseball plays.....who get the last laugh???/
  21. My son's t-ball team is more fundamentally sound than this dumpster fire.
  22. I don't think Lewis makes that play at 3B that Castro just did.....
