CBS Sports 2024 Twins Projections

Where do I sign up? 😱 -
I'm concerned too, but Lorenzen? There would be an uproar on here if the Twins signed another guy with a damaged arm......ala Desclafani.

Gray's contract is guaranteed 3 years and 75 million dollars. That wasn't going to happen. To me, the mistake was not taking the Polanco $$$ and signing Maeda to the 2 year $24 million dollar contract he got from the Tigers.

This whole story doesn't pass the smell test......you've seen the video of Ohtani and the interpreter talking very friendly to each other in the dugout supposedly after it was known that he had "stolen" 4.5 million dollars? SMH. All sports gambling is illegal in CA so even if Ohtani wired the funds to the bookie to cover illegal bets, he's in trouble. I haven't seen any reports that any of the bets were on baseball, so a lifetime ban is unlikely (ala Pete Rose) but I can see a years suspension or something along those lines. What I can't fathom is how you an lose 4.5 million dollars betting on sports. How can you be that bad at picking winners??? LOL

Larnach and Miranda Optioned. Balazovic Reassigned
cheeseheadgophfan replied to stringer bell's topic in Minnesota Twins Talk
I know they've been stretching him out....but i would not be surprised if Varland starts in the bullpen either closing or being the set-up guy due to Duran's injury. -
Well....i for one, think AK has more hitting talent than just about any guy on the roster. Having a bum wrist is the worst possible injury for a hitter. He also seems to be a little distant or aloof which may not have endeared him to Rocco. I'm hoping for a healthy 24 season so he can showcase what he can really do.

I haven't seen one national publication that doesn't say this was a good deal for the Twins. They get Margot for cheap (4 million)....MAT apparently wanted 2 years (which would block Martin) and probably at 2x's the cost of Margot. The prospects are a wash. The experts who have actually seen them both play have Doncon rated higher....

What in the actual F was with the pitch calling in the 8th inning??? Jax has a 97 MPH fastball and I bet he threw 20 sliders in a row. I know it was mostly weak contact, but mix it up a BIT. Ridiculous.

SWR walked guy on a pitch clock violation.....what are the rules? Can a pitcher call timeout? He clearly tried to before the pitch clock ran out......

Max Scherzer ejected, then suspended
cheeseheadgophfan replied to William K Johnson's topic in Other Baseball
And yet he didn't wash his hands......and was still allowed to pitch. -
He walked one guy....he was throwing strikes....he was ahead of most of the hitters. Lots of soft contact, seeing eye hits. Verdugo's hit was a Fenway special. That stuff seems to happen at Fenway. The D killed us. Vazquez had a bad game defensively.

I just laugh at the people who are now advocating we give the ball to Pagan in a save situation.......you would've slashed Rocco's tires had he brought Pagan in the game and he blew it.

I thought when Rocco said "He was especially sharp in the first 3 innings...." it was a subtle jab. And Rocco did make a point of saying he wasn't pleased with having a "bunch of Yankees surrounding" the umps during the issue. I think he made his point. Pretty eloquently. Why does German have a rosin bag in the dugout that he's using between innings??? Isn't the rosin bag supposed to be on the back of the mound for use while he's pitching? Ump has a problem with the stickiness....check the rosin bag.

Finally forked out the $$$ and paid for MLBTV...so the first time I've seen Ryan pitch live this season.....has he changed his windup to start the season or was this a new thing tonight? He didn't bring his hand over his head to start the windup but kept them in front of him..... Whatever made him change....keep it up LOL

Jorge Alcala's Puzzling Start
cheeseheadgophfan replied to Cody Pirkl's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
I like the way they are bringing him along.....came in the 6th inning yesterday in high leverage (1-0) game. He had a 1-2-3 inning. I think you will continue to see him progress as the year goes on. One thing is clear...he seems to really like his slider at this point more than his fastball.- 12 replies

Polo, AK, Gallo, Buck, Farmer, Lewis, Kepler We almost have a full lineup of injured players right now. You gotta cut them a little slack, right?

Am I the only one that thought that was seriously bad base-running by Buxton???? If he just goes to the outside, I don't think Chicago has any play with Gordon running.......

We are going to be very left-handed vs. the Yankees (assuming that's some of the rationale behind Garlick). Miranda, Correa (hopefully), Julien, Solano, Vazquez, Larnach, Taylor, Gordon, Wallner, ----not a batting order.

If you watched the game, the ball hit him flush in the face (that sickening sound). I'm amazed it didn't break his jaw. Speedy recovery to Kyle!!!!
