  1. Agreed.....pitching has cost us 1 game IMO.....the complete lack of offense by this lineup is why we have the record we currently have.
  2. Trying to be positive (it's tough)......but: 1. Paddock looked great. Could have easily been 5 shutout innings. Larnach had that fly ball in the first hit off the heel of his glove followed by a squibber down the 3rd base line. The second run scored on ground ball base hits. I thought his stuff looked great. 2. We hit the ball hard last night a number of times with nothing to show for it. Merrifield made some great plays in right. Larnach hit 2 balls right on the nuts. We can't catch a break. In a season, you've got to believe that will even out.
  3. On the bright side, Archer looks healthy and his stuff is nasty. He literally had no spring training so I'm optimistic.
  4. HIs stuff looked great.....goofy delivery....rising fastball (96) and a nasty slider. Hope that's the real Pagan
  5. Need his bat in the lineup.....LF is the best spot where he can hurt us the least. And the fact that Rocco didn't have him play any outfield during spring training is just another example of his strange decision making.
  6. Cavaco on the 7 day injured list???? Now what? I swear this team is cursed........?
  7. The average starter ERA over the past 2 years is between 4.5 and 4.6. He's our 5th-6th starter. He's signed to an average contract. What do you expect? Not trying to be a dick.
  8. You gotta remember.....he'd be a sophomore/junior in high school if he was in the US. He's swinging a wood bat, not the juiced up aluminum/bbcor stuff the high school/college players are using here. Taking that into account, his swing and skills are even more impressive.
  9. I too believe this will be a filler-type prospect. Any of these options would be a pleasant surprise. I love this trade. I'd take Duran closing games straight up right now in exchange for Rogers. It's not a coincidence that last night Duffey pitched the 7th inning (where he belongs) and Duran closed in a fairly close, but non-save, situation. Paddock, even in a "down" year had an ERA just over 5. Look at some of the other 4th-5th starters around the majors....he stacks up nicely. And don't sleep on Pagan.....he'll end up being a valuable bullpen arm.
  10. This is ridiculous.....Buxton said the atmosphere is better this year....the writer ran with that and assumed it was in regard to Donaldson. Ahhhhhhh.....you think it's just as likely (or more likely) that the addition of a clubhouse favorite like Gio, combined with the acquisition of a consummate pro like Corea was what he was referring to????? The roster from this year to last year has been overhauled. We're making story of a non-story.
  11. Yankee players and fans were not pleased with the Gio trade....not because of Donaldson, but because Ushela was known to be a glue guy in that dugout. His teammates loved him and he's amazing in the community. If you've never played the game, you might not know how important the vibe in the dugout is. Not "scapegoating" Donaldson at all (and who knows if Buxton's comments were about him) but Gio is going to provide things that aren't going to show up in stats.
  12. Cueto signed a minor league deal with the White Sox today.......
  13. Wynegar looks like he's 12, and Kusick looks like he's playing slowpitch softball in a 35+ beer league...... LOL
  14. Heard an interview on KFAN yesterday with Taylor Rogers and he mentioned something about Alcala being injured....anybody know what that's about?????
  15. Barnes debuted.....it was brief. I think he signed with a team in Japan this offseason.
  16. Before someone yells at me, yes i'm too lazy to look it up.....however I'd be interested to see how many of those homeruns were given up after 50+ pitches. It seemed to me last year that he really struggled getting through the lineup a third time and seemed to run out of gas. Just my recollection.....don't shoot the messenger LOL
  17. That swing reminds me a lot of Albert Pujols............
