  1. Why Duran in the 8th to get through 9-1-2??? Now who to try to close facing 3-4-5 hitters? I hate not using the closer in the 9th.....
  2. With his injury history, having Buxton steal on 3 consecutive pitches is a fireable offense.
  3. All stats and numbers aside, to me he passed the eye test. Didn't look overwhelmed and looked the part of a big leaguer. His speed plays and he made some nice plays in the outfield. Consider me impressed.....
  4. Julien is on pace to hit 42 homers.....are you saying you'd rather have Polanco taking those AB's????
  5. IMO Thielbar isn't going anywhere because he's a Rocco guy.....Funderburk may be better but he probably goes. Sending Miranda down makes no sense....he should be hitting here everyday, either at 3b, 1b, or DH'ing. They're going to keep Margot too, probably because of the 4 million they're paying him. I think they send Martin down to make sure he's playing everyday. I like the AB's he takes and he love his speed in terms of base-stealing, but he probably goes in a numbers crunch. Alcala and Topa should be up. Jackson and Bowman are dime a dozen arms.
  6. 10 million for Vazquez seems like a massive overpay. Is there any other team catching-desperate enough to take on that contract? It would allow them to try to make a deal for a starting pitcher if they could dump that contract as part of the deal. Camargo is mashing in the minors but I have no idea how good of a defensive catcher he is.....
  7. How can Chicago challenge that? Didn't they lose the challenge on Jeffers HBP???
  8. And why pull Sands after one inning? Calling it now....Thielbar gives up a run.....
  9. Is there anyone on this planet (other than Rocco) that would continue to play Santana?????
  10. Has he improved or has he just gotten healthy?? Hard to tell.....
  11. The biggest concern for me is that few if any hitters are improving under Popkins.....guys that are supposed to be proven major league hitters like Farmer, Vazquez, Santana, Buxton and to a lesser extent Castro look absolutely clueless right now. Julien has taken a step back. Wallner looked lost. The only guy that you could say has improved is Jeffers. There is something fundamentally wrong with the approach the team is taking right now, and that comes from the hitting coach.
  12. First Lew Ford hurts himself ironing his shirt while wearing it, and now Carlos hurts himself coughing and/or blowing his nose.....only the Twins SMH
  13. $$$---I'm hoping those are big enough. 😳🤐
  14. Glad nobody took me up on that......😁
  15. I'll place big $$$ on Okert not getting this save....Rocco's bullpen management is bizarre.
  16. 1st and 2nd....no out....2-0 count on Santana......fastball right down the middle and he pops up to 3rd. BARF
  17. Just think you've got to have a closer (or a guy who's done it before) in the 9th. You want to bring in Holt in the 7th? Fine. Than Okert in the 8th. The 7th seemed to be the better matchup for a lefty pitcher. It worked, so Rocco will continue to do it. Question for you....does Rocco pitch run for AK if it's a 1 run game???? I think so because his moves all seem to be pre-determined. If the Brewers tie that game up, we have Austin Martin looking for his first MLB hit in the 10th instead of a guy having a career day and the hottest hitter on the team.
  18. It worked.....but there is a HUGE difference getting 3 outs in the 9th versus the 7th. That's why closers make so much $$$$$$. The insurance run in the 8th was nice, but Okert was coming in regardless. He walks the first guy and got behind the second guy before getting a gift strike. If that game is closer, his butt-cheeks are tightening....I guarantee it. In addition, the 7th inning was 8-9-1 for the Brewers including at least one left-hand hitter (maybe 2???). It makes way more sense to bring in Okert there.....I'm sorry but Rocco drives me nuts (PH for Julien, Pitch-running for AK on 3rd base). Rant over LOL
  19. Looks like Okert....I'll go on the record (in advance instead of hindsight) that I don't like it.
  20. So is Jax coming out for a 2nd inning??? If so, he's probably unavailable for the home opener? Or are you going to let someone with no closer experience try to get 3 outs in the 9th? That's why i don't understand the Stewart move in the 7th?
  21. Wow....what a freaking play by Correa.....played a ton of 1st Base in my life and that type of catch running away from the infield is so difficult.....
  22. But you've got 8-9-1 coming up for the Brewers and you still have to get 9 outs.....not seeing the rationale to bring in your quasi-closer in the 7th????
