Game-time forecast: 58 deg F, partly cloudy (sun sets at 19:59 hrs), winds from the WNW at 12 mph (I never know how to interpret that; if they are coming from the WNW, does that mean they are blowing to the ESE?)

2. Unwritten Rules -- Baseball has a bunch of unwritten rules... So does life... Here are some of those:

If you walk into a Men's bathroom with 10 urinals on the wall... And a guy is using urinal #3... Do not use Urinal #2 or #4... #1 and #5 are OK... But... #10 is the best choice.

#9 could also be the best choice if urinal #10 is the urinal that is low to the ground... you know, for the kids.

Excited to see how Gibson adjusts to keep K.C. off balance tonight.  I have high hopes for him this year.  I do want to see him miss a few more bats though.  

Also, super excited to see the turn around start for Alex Meyer tonight.  

If Meyer can consistently hit that outside corner with his fastball and changeup he is going to be deadly. It was fun to watch yesterday.

 

Toss in a few "Nuke" LaLoosh "not quite sure where they're going" 95 mph fastballs and you've got a winner.

Well, in my case, the best choice is no choice. I have accidentally walked into a men's room or two, but I left immediately. And even if I stayed for some unknown reason, I'd still take a stall over a urinal. That's just kind of ickish.

You still go with #10, but you make sure to make the awkward lean look intentional.

...and you didn't even have the experience of being one of several dozen guys all using a long metal trough at the same time.  When you are 8 years old that is quite an experience.

 

It does get everybody out the door and back to the game in a timely manner, though, I'll say that.

We should have called up Meyer tonight to send the Royals a quick message.

3. Edison Volquez -- He's a 31 year old right-hander from the Dominican Republic. He's the Guy the Texas Rangers traded to the Reds to acquire Josh Hamilton. So How did that trade work out? Both were fantastic for awhile and then terrible for awhile. Both have had drug issues. Edison took performance enhancing drugs while Josh took drugs that make you laugh at stuff you wouldn't normally laugh at. The type of drugs that I recommend that you take before participating in the game thread. The Volquez fastball is low to mid 90's and he mixes in a change and a curve. If he throws strikes he can be very difficult. If he doesn't... He can be torched.

BTW, its "Edinson", Eistein.

On the urinal subject, it's also important that if there are 3 of them, and all three are open, you must never choose the middle urinal.  It is only polite to give another person the option to stand next to you, or not.

That should be correct, since if you're driving south from Minnesota, you end up in Louisiana, not Canada.  Unless you have some sort of fancy boat-car, and you're attempting a North/South circumnavigation, in which case observation time is the critical factor.

It probably falls under the heading of a short leash. I hear it is a good universal management (or moderation) technique, often employed for starters to keep them in line... for a win.

I also am discouraged from licking people who are not my spouse.
