Yes.

The end result wasn't great last night but I was very impressed with his first trip through the lineup. 

The guy knows how to pitch and I wouldn't mind seeing another start and I don't believe it's an automatic disaster if he makes the next start. 

He could get lit up... He may not. Let's take a look. 

Weird. I mean, a team in contention just acquired him to be one of their starters, and he isn't sure he's good enough to be playing? Weird. 

Total drag. I have to see Colon in LA on Monday! Perhaps a 2 game rental. What a joke. Wait all year for these games and Falvey and Levine gives me Colon! The only good news would be he retires or leaves the Twins. Looks like the Twins will miss Kershaw (in rotation to pitch Sunday), and one of Wood or Hill. Hard to say yet with the all the Dodger pitchers available exactly who will go on what day, but Kershaw will not be pitching against the Twins. 

we hear about the clubhouse a lot from some posters......

How do we think players feel about the FO giving starts to a player that is doubting he should be in teh majors anymore?

Maybe the Twins signed Colon to convince Hughes, Breslow, and Belisle of retirement too?

This condition is worthless without the word bilateral in there somewhere.

The evidence of him being effective in early innings this year is pretty much just this one game. I wouldn't get my hopes up on that front. Even a 8-9 ERA pitcher can string together a few scoreless innings, but I don't think it's possible to predict and avoid the blowups.

clearly that proves he should pitch the 7th inning.....duh.

Considering his career track record, and his last 4 seasons, and the fact he actually looked pretty good for the first 4 innings, I'm totally on board with a couple more starts.

This could be the year he finally hits the wall and is toast!

But then again, look at his career, the past 4 seasons, and the fact he won 15 games last season. Not to make any sort of excuse, but the past 10-14 days have probably created a bit of rust. (Old jokes placed here). And his Rochester appearance was pretty much a tuneup. With everyone, including the Twins, looking for help on the back end of the rotation, what could possibly be wrong with another couple of starts to see?

Romero and Gonsalves - that is all I have to say.  It is something I have been saying since the all star game.  Why not?

I mean they keep starting Gibson? Albeit he's had a few decent ones lately, but Colon probably won't do any worse that what Gibby has done most of the year. I mean if Colon strings together 2 or 3 decent starts and his Era will be around 6 also?

Understand your sentiment. I get it. I really do. But the team needs 5 starters who can pitch some innings and give the team a chance, just like all teams do. And half the teams in the league, if not more, have some questions about the back end of their rotation. Honestly, while Gibson appears to be what he is, if he could continue to, mostly, pitch the way he has since his demotion/promotion he isn't that bad. (Guy has stuff, needs to trust it and pitch angry once in a while. Does he speak Spanish?) Santiago is also OK if healthy. Not great, nothing special, but OK. While waiting for someone else, Colon is seriously not a bad card to play. Again, his career numbers, his last 4 years, his last year numbers. A last gasp? Perhaps. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.
