Things to Think About:

1. Think about clean slates... It's kind of how I feel... I was all set to watch last night when I got a phone call shortly before first pitch and the phone call lasted the entire game. I could only pay attention to the game about 25% and therefore I have no baggage from last night to take into this one. The Series is tied 1-1. It's a clean slate.

2. Think about the Streak... It's over... The Twins produced a run last night that wasn't Home Run produced. 23 straight runs via the long ball. I think I heard somewhere that it was a record.

3. Think about Kyle Gibson... It's been quite some time since a Twins pitcher has so many hopes pinned to him. The expectations are probably unfair for Kyle but such is the state of our starting pitching. He is still a work in progress but those hopes remained pinned through good times and bad times. Is it safe to assume... That Kyle can't fail... He has to develop.

4. Think about Power... It's a powerful lineup once again. From Morneau to Colabello... That section of the lineup can all go deep and I think Gardy and all of us want them to. There isn't a lot of opportunity for small ball.

5. Think about Glasses... My Friend got pulled over for speeding... The Police Officer looked at his license and said... "It says on here that you require corrective lenses". My Friend replied... "Listen... I have Contacts" The Police Officer replied... "No you listen... I don't care who you know".

The waiver claim deadline is reportedly noon for Morneau. Would they pull him from the lineup pre game if a claim is made but a deal is only in discussion?

Unlikely, they'll still have 48hours to work out a trade. Rios continued to play for the Sox after the Rangers had claimed him.

It was fun to watch that stolen base attempt- they sent Bourn on 3-2, and Gibson threw strike three and Mauer threw strike four. Bourn was so out he stopped at least 10 feet from the bag and they had to run him down.

Morneau just crushed a line drive there- no elevation, just a laser.

It looks like a lot of runs will be scored. The Twins missed Kazmir, Ubaldo, and Masterson this series. I think that is pretty lucky. One or more of those guys must be injured.

Doubles day.....driving in runs the old fashioned way today.

I'm confused - Willingham hit the ball deep and the runner on third scored but the ball did not actually leave the playing field - did the umpires screw up and allow the run to be counted on a non-HR? I thought that was unpossible. :)

If the Tribe wants more RH power, I'd trade them Plouffe straight up for Aviles. Aviles, IMHO, is better in the field, can play an okay MI, and better at getting on base, plus he is older. Plouffe is younger and has more power with the chance to be better.

It's called a sacrifice fly - if a ball is caught in play, a runner is allowed to advance at their own risk.

Or, was this a sarcastic post?;)

Would *I* be *sarcastic*?

I am intrigued by this new form of scoring, and will have to look into this more closely sometime.

I think the word "unpossible" is a good clue!

It's a new sabermetric thing.

Really nice baserunning by Florimon there- he was running hard to second and made up his mind fast when the ball trickled off the infielder. Made it to third without a throw.

Dozier...oops. It looked like he was taking a step toward second and didn't get back in time.

Go Twins. That's about all I can manage for the game thread from work

I'm at work, and I'm still posting.

The trick is, make it look like you're doing work.

If that's the case, why are the Twins doing it?

Gardy is trying all kinds of stuff he wouldn't normally do this year.
