John Bonnes Site Manager Posted July 30, 2013 Posted July 30, 2013 Here is the primary one.... And here is the secondary one.... I gotta say, as a Minnesotan and Twins fan, I love them. I'd never thought of the Target Field "tiara" as particularly distinctive, but it says "Target Field" to me, and I like the Minneapolis skyline in the background. And I love the Minnesota outline in the second. Both seem to be done with the distinctive graphical style the Twins have been using which reinforces it feeling like our game. Well done, I say.
E. Andrew Provisional Member Posted July 30, 2013 Posted July 30, 2013 Good to see that our most generic building is so prominently featured.
DaveW Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2013 Posted July 30, 2013 The second one makes me think they are playing the game in Duluth. I would have personally preferred an homage to 1991, or at least a Juicy Lucy somewhere on the logo.

Musk21 Community Moderator Posted July 30, 2013 Posted July 30, 2013 Pretty so-so logo, but I'm just excited to have the festivities here. I was at the '85 All-Star Game as an 8 year old with my Grandpa and would love to take him along with my kids next year. He'll be 93.
DaveW Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2013 Posted July 30, 2013 Duluth? Sorry, I had to.Meh, I have never lived one day in Minnesota, just knew Duluth was north

RedBull34 Verified Member Posted July 30, 2013 Posted July 30, 2013 Actually, that's more like Park Rapids. What a coup for P.R.!Not gonna lie, looked at the map and that star appears to be straight west of Duluth and South of Lake of the Woods, which means the star is exactly where Park Rapids is. Very Well done.
JB_Iowa Verified Member Posted July 30, 2013 Posted July 30, 2013 That is a little bizarre. They could have put the star in the dip in the M and been a lot closer although still probably a little too far north but at least it would have been on the correct side of the state (and they could have moved "Game" down a little more and to the right to accomodate it).
Winston Smith Verified Member Posted July 30, 2013 Posted July 30, 2013 So they haven't sold the corporate sponsorship yet?
Badsmerf Verified Member Posted July 30, 2013 Posted July 30, 2013 Its ok. They are both Minnesotan, but the 2nd goes a little far lol.
Cody Christie Twins Daily Contributor Posted July 30, 2013 Posted July 30, 2013 When it was first announced that the Twins would get the game, I made a logo at my blog. It was based off of the Inaugural Season Target Field logo. But some of the same ideas are in the one the Twins released. Jerr Verified Member Posted July 30, 2013 Posted July 30, 2013 Duluth? Sorry, I had to. Thanks for correcting the location of Duluth:)
LaBombo Verified Member Posted July 30, 2013 Posted July 30, 2013 Actually, that's more like Park Rapids. What a coup for P.R.!But it's also close to Wadena, which is a more fun name to say when you want to get your Fargo accent on.http://www.bgsu.edu/images/cas/img49785.jpg Also, Park Rapidians are getting a little too big for their breeches lately, what with their fancy 4th of July parade, indoor plumbing, and laying claim to the birthplace of the mighty Mississippi. Making them the honorary location of the ASG logo star will only make their heads even bigger. Next thing you know they'll be boosting a logging truck some night after Foxy's closes and stealing Paul Bunyan from Bemidji. So how about if we let the fine folk in the sleepy village of Osage host the logo star? They're only 10 miles from Park Rapids, they're quite humble even as rural Minnesotans go, and the PR boost may be just the revenue enhancer the town needs to get both of its side streets paved.
Kobs Verified Member Posted July 30, 2013 Posted July 30, 2013 Are we sure that's not a Jeep Cherokee with a kayak on the luggage rack driving down 94? Putting the star in the wrong place is pretty terrible. Americans are bad enough at geography on their own.

Although the big gray box in downtown is still prominent. No getting around that thing!
Thrylos Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2013 Posted July 30, 2013 I like them, but this one makes it look like the game is held in Park Rapids instead of Minneapolis (position of the star). Either get rid of the star, or move the whole thing southeast (to align with MPLS) and pop the MLB logo on top or something .
Gernzy Verified Member Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 I hope they put the logo on their hats like they did in 2010. I need a new hat!
