Ohtani leading off is interesting, but then again, why not? You're likely cooked anyway. Go out with your superstar leading the way.

Ohtani hit leadoff many times during this season

Milwaukee Brewers going to World Series for first time since Molitor, Yount, et al in 1982.

The "experts" picked the Brewers for anywhere from 78-83 wins this season and Vegas had them for 84 wins I believe. What a fun team. Defense, pitching, and timely hitting by this Brew Crew.

I’m far from a sports gambler but I would guess you would be gaining money every year betting the over on Milwaukee, Tampa, and Cleveland. And betting the under on Anaheim.

Brewers won 103 games.

Seems like it. I just don't see most writers as having that strong of a grasp on baseball. Many high school and college coaches along with many scouts have a better understanding of the game and the teams.

I do enjoy reading articles.

The Brewers manager resembles a police chief who says "your badge and your gun" in a movie about a detective trying to go rogue to follow his hunch.  Or Mickey Rourke from Sin City.  Or The Thing.

These are all meant to be compliments.  He's great

He’s definitely older - school. Benching guys that don’t hustle, leaving relievers in because they are pitching well, not managing the game strictly by right / left.

Tampa , Cleveland and the brewer have very good managers , some people think managers aren’t responsible for the team outcome  , we’ll see better managing in the World Series …

congratulations to the brewers , it was a very satisfying 4 game sweep of the dodgers …

@Vanimal46The point I was trying to make is the following. While the expanded wildcard format has allowed teams with 85 or less wins to make the playoffs (Houston had 81 wins in winning the AL West). While a cheap owner may now target 85 wins instead of 90 to save about 5 WAR in payroll (possibly 20 - 40 million on free agent market), these 85 win teams usually do not make it very far in playoffs. The exceptions being the 1987 Twins (85 Wins) and the 2006 Angels (83 Wins). Not all 85 win teams are the same and Cleveland is an exceptionally well run team and have been for many years.  Falvey was hired to bring this Cleveland success to Minnesota and did not do well.

I dont understand running down the baseline and diving to touch 1B with your hand.  Your feet are closer to 1B by the act of running how is your hand going to get there faster by diving.

Did the guy who managed the 2025 champions forget how to manage or something?  Is that the argument?

It seems to me that what Cleveland, Tampa, and Milwaukee all have in common is emphasizing a few things in play development that never slump and can be counted in in both small and large samples:

Great defense and a lot of athleticism all over the field and consistent pitching philosophies during their development that carryover to the big leagues.
