I have to say that I hate the idea of a bullpen game in the playoffs. It just seems like there is too much margin for error. Let your starter start and have a quick hook if you must, but you can't count on having 7 or 8 different relievers all performing on the same day.

Hey Tom P, are you paying attention to the White Sox? Historically bad 2 years ago to likely winning a playoff series with young talent.

Wait...rebuilds don't have to be forever?  You can do one and then...be better at some point?

Witchcraft!

Coming off an off day, too.

If that's indicative of the state of these rotations, then this entire series is just for show.  And ownership wants to let even more teams into the playoffs?  No thanks

I want the Yankees to win long enough to hold my rooting interest, but ultimately losing in either the ALCS or World Series. Always good to have a villain not immediately be eliminated

Michael King is dealing for the Padres. 6 no-hit innings. I think you give him 7 or 110 pitches and turn it over to the bullpen.

King loses his no-hitter in the 7th, but it raises a question. If you are Padres manager in the theoretical situation that King keeps his no-hitter through the 7th, are you turning it over to the big dogs (Morejon and Miller) in the bullpen to try to keep the no-hitter alive or are you putting in your lower leverage guys to save Morejon and Miller for close game scenarios where you actually need them to win the game.

First day of playoffs over in wild card series  …

Atlanta starts it out with a win over Phillies  …

White Sox win over astros ( probably be astros last appearance for awhile in post season play )  …

yankees win over Red Sox ( damn Yankees ) …

san Diego wins over the lovable losers ( cubbies ) , king pitches 6 plus innings of no hit ball …

good thing it was raining in northern Minnesota to catch all the action …

Red Sox/Yankees with Schlitter vs. Tolle is going to be amazing tonight.

Sawx probably weren't going to win regardless of managerial moves, but I thought removing Tolle was premature and therefore I lol'ed when the first batter homered against the lefty reliever.  The parade of relievers who followed might have been curtailed, keeping the game closer.
