If Gomez can handle the pressure of being a closer that is great.   Then put the more leverage situations on Hoffman and Morris.

What is this in reference to?  Jackson and Bell?   We are carrying 3 catchers for the rest of the year.  Carrying 3 catchers never used to be unheard of and some organizations still do it.  Especially when the rosters expand.

Gray and carrying 3 catchers is not a good roster configuration.  Gray is not even a major league player at this point, you fit in Jackson into the lineup but is he a better option than who you are sitting.

If they are contenders they should get the best 13 position players up here.  Prove to us they think they are contenders.  Bell is not going anywhere which I don't agree but he is here to stay.

Well just like Bell you better just learn to deal with it the rest of the year otherwise we lose him for next year. Yankees or another team would pick him up. 
 

As to Gray he’s up until Buxton gets healthy or they call someone else up.

Ad to Gray he’d up until Buxton gets healthy or they call someone else up. 

Bell has a one year deal, so they need to run as far as they can from any more deals.  No more half measures.

Back to my original question, if we had real reporters in this town they would be asking why Gray is on the roster.  We are back to the half measures, actions speak louder than words.

This makes sense.  Don't want to shake everything up right away.  Hoffman was more a of LH fireman in Toronto once he regained his composure after losing the closer role.  I still see Hoffman closing games for us before the end of the season.  Optioning Rojas would not have been my choice, but I can see where it makes sense as he still has options left.  My personal preference would have been to honor Taylor Rogers for his service and see if he was willing to retire to make room for Hoffman, but that is a hard thing to do in middle of a season.

Shelton and mgmt will maybe ? next week or so will have to give Hoffman majority of closing chances over Gomez who has done a good job ,Tampa bay seems to look at the  Long Long Prediction of there talent evaluators when deciding on keeping them or not , Joe Ryan -they thought he wouldnt be able to sustain the high fastball , were they right ? 2nd half failures have been his downfall - Same with Taj Bradley -all the talent in the world -Jury is still out ?  Same thing with Gomez  not looking as good lately -Decent yes  -Closer ? Hoffman i think will be given every chance to be the Man, Bullpen was improved ?  Yes  Go Twins

TY for the correction.  I confused Minter and Hoffman.  I was thinking part of the reason Rojas was optioned was because we had 4 lefties in the bullpen and one had to go.

All good!! I think Rojas was optioned because he's had a few bad outings lately (including Sunday) and could use some time at AAA to work things out.
