I mean....is it really that different than what we're doing in terms of being "in it"?

They just dealt a top fifty guy, so so far it's very different. If the Twins deal a top fifty guy, I really can't wait for a sale.

You have to drop to the 25th to thirtieth best prospect for the Twins, to be as "good" as what was traded for Gausman.....

I think the twins wanted the year of control for a guy with a six ERA though, rather than the rental great pitcher.

I am a bit confused by what the Blue Jays are doing. They have acquired 2 starting pitchers in Jameson Tailon and Jose Soriano, but they also traded away a starter in Kevin Gausman. They are only 4.5 out of the wild card so maybe they think they are still in it?

I believe they are acquiring guys who are controllable in at least 2027. Gausman isn't so they got rid of him.

Gausman is definitely a better pitcher than Kremer, but he is not a great pitcher. He has a 4.38 ERA on the year, and a 5.13 ERA in his last 6 starts.

I agree, meant more in terms of their "contending" status being an iffy conclusion.

Red Sox gave up their #2 prospect (per MLB.com) for Adley Rutschman.

In case we're wondering the ballpark that Jeffers might have been in.

Looks like Rutschman comes with another year of control, though.
