Evidently there’s a 50/50 coin flip that he could be traded at the deadline. If we want to make a bold move, this is it. Then we get the best of both worlds with Royce and Greene from the 2017 draft…

If it can be done, I have no problem giving up Emma Rodriguez or Tait, Hill or Quick, and another top 15 prospect to make it happen.

I would very much be open to a move like this. Would be fun to have him at the top of the rotation.

Worth a phone call/text. What do the Reds want for Greene? Alan Roden, Emmanuel Rodriguez, Dasan Hill, and Quentin Young enough? Or do they want MLB pitchers, like Zebby Matthews?

I'm not sure how I feel. He's hurt as often as Lewis, and will be expensive in prospects. Could be awesome, could be a huge mistake.

Agreed with all of this. He probably also is at the lowest his value will ever be IF he does get back to form

So people have full context, Greene's contract is $15.3 million in 2027, $16.3 million in 2028, and a $21 million club option in 2029 with a $2 million buyout.

Agreed. If Tom P wants to go big or go home we should try to get Greene. Prior to this injury stricken season, he was a 6 and 4 WAR pitcher the previous 2 seasons at 24 and 25 years old

Guessing Greene is about +$50MM in surplus value, plus up to 20% due to market right now. So figure $60MM surplus value. That's very high end (short of mega elite) territory.

Emma + Abel + Hill + Keaschall might get it done.

Lets assume he's healthy, then I say go out and get him, but the price would be sky high.  Ace level pitcher available for basically a 3/52 contract for 2027-29.

Someone mentioned Emma, Abel, Hill and Keaschall.  Maybe but I doubt it.  Jump all over that one.  Probably only works if Reds are worried about his injury.

If I am Cincy, I start of with this (knowing Jenkins is off the table).

Would I do that with the twins?  Maybe.  How about Larnach, Tait, Hill and Brandon Winokur?
