Heck, just call up Emma......he's "healthy" for a few days. Gonzalez is on the 40 man and he’s right handed. I’d rather see him than Gray. Mike Sixel and Church of Kreidler 2

CRF Verified Member Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago I'm probably a cult of one, and I'm fine with it, but I really wouldn't mind if Buxton waived his no trade and they shipped him to Atl/somewhere. I've seen this dance way too many times.

That hip is going to be a problem the rest of his career I fear.
mrmpls Verified Member Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago We lose a r.h. outfielder and call up a l.h. infielder who cant hit, has anyone explained how this move makes us a better team ? What are the front office and Shelton scared of ?, to bad about Byron ill be surprised if he is back b4 labor day if at all, sure know how to damper any hopes for the fans of staying competitive by calling up Tristan Gray , Royce this is now your Team to lead show us what ya got - Tell Shelton to leave you at 1b Mike Sixel 1

stringer bell Verified Member Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago I'm not a big Gray fan either, but they have been short an infielder since Gray was optioned and Buxton was activated. I'd probably rather see one of the other St. Paul guys who plays infield, but I don't know if they want to start the clock on Culpepper who is just coming off a fairly long IL stint himself. I think Gray will get some starts at shortstop and it will bother me because he's no better there than Brooks Lee. Just a note, neither Jenkins or Culpepper (or Gonzalez or Mendez) are really setting AAA on fire. The Saints have a team OPS of .834, Jenkins OPS is .880 and Culpepper is .841, Mendez is .844 and Gonzalez is .729. Guys like Wallner and Fedko have far better numbers and we've seen what they have done against major league pitching. RpR, Church of Kreidler and Patzky 2 1

Guys like Wallner and Fedko have far better numbers and we've seen what they have done against major league pitching. We always quote stats and I get that to some degree. But then what is the magic number that they are supposed to be at to be called up. From some of the reports I have seen about Jenkins, many are saying he is ready. He may not hit for a lot of home runs initially but should have doubles power. His approach at the plate should translate at this level as well. You need a shot in the arm with Buxton going down, why not call up your top prospect when he is this close. You don't say one day we are in buy mode, then bring Gray up the next day. As for infielders, they love moving people around and both Martin and Keaschall can play the infield as well.
