LOL, you can rest assured that when I respond to Chief, there's a good chance that the subtext is already taken into account.  Because I know to look.

No one else seemed amused by my later contemplation on what happens if it rains on an off day.  I slay me, but only me apparently.

The ball of string. Duh.

I mean, it's famous.

This the one Weird Al wrote about?

In the epic roadtrip ballad? (Though Albuquerque is pretty good too.)

Ps i think i mentioned elsewhere i preferred sire over sir as an honorific ( but didn't mention i preferred either over boss) but i hadn't considered weird...

Weird sampleSizeOfOne has a ring to it.

Or their weirdness, or el weirdorino if your not into that whole brevity thing

If I had to give the bullpen a grade today, it would be a solid "F".

Strong disagree.  The bullpen isn’t going to be perfect every time.  This was a great game to have a dud from the bullpen—when the offense/As defense scores 11.

Super disappointing that Prielipp got the ER from Sands appearance

I have a relatively easy solution to this. For every inherited runner that scores, divvy up the earned run between the starter and reliever by quarter points based on the inherited base.  So for that particular run, which Sands inherited on first base, Prielipp gets 0.25 and Sands gets 0.75.  If a reliever comes in with the bases loaded, of all score, each get 1.5 instead of 3 for the starter and 0 for the reliever.  If a reliever comes in with a runner on third, he only gets 0.25 if he lets it in, while the starter gets 0.75.  (Second base is 0.5/0.5).  Number of outs don’t matter.

I tried mightily for a good 15 minutes to come up with a retort worthy of that particular piece of brilliance, and found myself unworthy..

Kudos, good sir.

With the aid of a night's sleep:

"They reschedule the off day to an open date after the season."
