Offense with 3 hits all game. This is on them. Cubs average 5 runs (or have been recently) I heard earlier.

Make that 4 hits! Way to breakout of your slump, Kody! All the doubters take note…..

Need more than 2 solo home runs!!!

It’s like eating an elephant, Peter. One run at a time.

I know Paredes' analytics aren't great but everything I see him I thank "this guy can really pitch". He absolutely stays over Adams when Sands comes back. By the way, if Paredes is pitching today, who's starting on Tuesday in Cleveland?

Radio said probably Paredes, but they did want him to get an inning this weekend.

Too bad the righties couldn’t solve them.

Top 5 of the order are 1-14 with a walk. That’s not going to get it done.

perhaps a bullpen game? Paredes and Rojas could probably theoretically go 3-4 each if efficient, though they shouldn't send Paredes out for another inning today if that's the case

My bad, forgot Ober is back. Its Ryan, Prielipp, Ober, Bradley against Cleveland and Matthews, Ryan and Prileipp against the As.

How long is Prielipp on the IL for - will he be back by Tuesday?

Preilipp isn't eligible to come off the IL until later in the week.

Do you think that ABS as it is even now, is better than humans? I mean, they use it for challenges to over ride human guesses. So do you wait for it to be even better (3D, which will happen soon either way, maybe even next year), or always use the best option as time goes by, and always work to improve that? We constantly see the umps even missing the 2D calls. I contend we will see them miss even more 3D if that is how it gets rolled out.

Always best tool available as soon as possible for me.

I haven't watched many minor league games where they are doing full ABS.  I would have to see how it affects the pace of play first.  We see in the majors during a challenge that it takes about five seconds, per pitch, for ABS to make the call.  Again, I am unfamiliar with how it works for the full ABS works in the minors.  Does it only apply to the calls within a few inches of the strike zone as they assume the ump should get the rest of the calls?  Do we have to wait for ABS to call the ball when it goes to the backstop or down the middle of the plate?  Using my time of 5 seconds per pitch and the average number of pitches per game being 300.  That adds 1,500 seconds to the game, which comes out to 25 minutes, essentially negating all of the gains we have made by implementing pace of play rules.  Another question is whether MLB can implement full ABS under the current CBA with the umpires.  I believe they can, but I am not certain.  I do think the seven umps that are retiring are doing in part of the expectation that ABS is here to stay and they don't want any part of adjusting what they do.

I also think that the current ABS system (with challenges) gives the fans some extra engagement that has been lacking in baseball over the years.  They have been desperately trying to change rules to increase engagement, such as banning the shift, pace of play rules, larger bases, and so on.  It has responded with increased attendance (MLB average) and increased TV ratings.  Ultimately, I think there are some kinks that need to be worked out before going to full ABS.  I foresee at least another year of this type of setup before a decision is made on full ABS.  That year would also give MLB a chance to make ABS better and potentially be setup for a 3D system when they decide to implement full ABS.

Is this the classic hang a pitcher out to dry and option them the next day?

I think they’ll need Paredes to start a game next week.

Rojas? Seems odd if they want Paredes to start they’re letting him throw 40 or more pitches today
