Royce swing is long and kind of sloppy. He had a couple of really hittable pitches and fouled them off. He’s swinging like a guy with too heavy of a bat.

Today, for the first time, I am feeling sorry for Royce Lewis. Five pitches right down the middle ... nothing. Maybe worse, Royce swings at four pitches well out of the strike zone and every swing was full pull with little awareness of what the pitcher was doing.

Maybe he can turn it around, but Royce looks more unplayable than any guy on the roster and the coaches know that.

What song on it would you say applies the most to Twins fans? I'm going with ... "Misery."

Worse is the players also know it, although there's 3-4 other guys struggling just as bad. You're not going to win consistently with this much plate incompetence..... I guess most of us knew this coming out of spring training.

I am hoping that if/when they decide to send Lewis down, they will also instruct him to pick up a 1B glove and take some reps over there.  Provided Culpepper sticks, that will likely be his one spot to stay on the team and maybe develop a little more trade value as he can play multiple positions if the Twins do end up writing him off.

I look at that infield single in the 1st.  I think if Royce was going right, he makes that play where there was little chance that Lee could make it in any case.  It does appear, that like Wallner did, he is taking his struggles at the plate out to the field as well.

Is Clemens the Twins best player?

I don’t know if he is, but I know after having a really decent year last year he has been labeled as a non-major leaguer that couldn’t be on any other roster by several on these game forums this year.

Painful to watch Lewis right now.

Says a lot that Gasser has only two strikeouts, both of them being Royce.

Great swing by Clemens. Wasn’t a fan of him standing on second not paying attention to the overthrow.
