Chris Schad Verified Member Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 Gardy's job now appears to be safe, but I asked the obvious questions of who will be traded and who will take their place in my new Yahoo piece: Y! SPORTS Enjoy!
AllhopeisgoneMNTWINS Provisional Member Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 Not a big fan of Ozzie Guillen maybe if we hired someone else and Ozzie was a bench coach or something who could light a fire under people to get them to play harder. Molitor im all for.
wagwan Verified Member Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 Molitor was a great player no argument at all but he has never managed anywhere. Has he ever been a coach at any level? There has to be more to the job than being a Hall of Famer. How would he manage pitchers? 100 pitch limit? What would he do different than Gardenhire?
AllhopeisgoneMNTWINS Provisional Member Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 im just wondereing who is out there that is a potential manager for the twins?
buckninetyone Provisional Member Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 those relief globes are not to scale. NOT TO SCACLE! FALLACY!
TheLeviathan Old-Timey Member Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 Ugh...Ozzie talk. The guy gives us a nickname and we romanticize him. Lets hope it isn't him we ever replace Gardy with.

ThePuck Provisional Member Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 Ozzie is the last thing we need. I just threw up a little in my mouth.
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 Ugh...Ozzie talk. The guy gives us a nickname and we romanticize him. Lets hope it isn't him we ever replace Gardy with. +1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 I'd rather see Glynn get the job. I'd rather see the Twins hire almost anyone internally over Ozzie. I'd rather see them keep Gardenhire.
Oldgoat_MN Verified Member Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 Ozzie said some very nice things about the Twins in the past. He also seems to be able to motivate some players. However... in interviews he gave after accepting the Marlins job he was very clear that it's all about the money. Sounded like baseball was a very distant second. I was not impressed.
gunnarthor Old-Timey Member Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 Ozzie's pretty polarizing. I like him but concede he might not be a perfect match here. I always wanted him to be Gardy's bench coach and then have someone put a microphone on them during the game. It would be great listening.
TheLeviathan Old-Timey Member Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 For every entertaining, off-the-cuff thing he has said he's said something hateful and stupid. He was consistently voted one of the worst managers to play for and his most notable success came in what was one of the flukiest collection of career years and surprise performances in recent memory. Sorry, but I don't find him cute, funny, or particularly good at his job.
Brandon Verified Member Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 Gardy will be back next year. Doumit gets traded Morneau doesnt players in the minors continue to improve and some even get to gain major league experience, and the Twins could lose around 90 games or so. that should answer most of the 2nd half ?s. The only one left is the one Reuse asked the other day. why dont the Twins take advantage of the international market and sign some players.
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 Doumit gets traded Morneau doesntActually there's a higher chance he gets traded rather than not. It sounds like the Twins are willing to give up a bag of balls for him. (Of course, the last 'bag of balls' was Pedro Hernandez and Eduardo Escobar...)Ozzie was a bench coach or something who could light a fire under people to get them to play harder. The Marlins sure didn't play motivated last year. Guillen isn't any good, repeating what everyone else has said here.
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted July 19, 2013 Posted July 19, 2013 Will I continue my streak of spilling mustard on myself while eating a Kramarchuks brat into the second half? Only time will tell, next opportunity vs the ' Stros.
