Is it too much to ask to have a span laudner booth for the rest of the year?

We have that caliber of commentary already with Attebury and Gladden

France would have come in when Correa exited, no change...

You are missing the point, Lee should have been in the the starting line up and France comes in for an injury only.

I don't think you realize how bad Lee had been in July before tonight - .136/.200/.153 (.353 OPS) over 65 PA and his fielding hasn't been that great, especially at 2B... Clemens at 2B and France 1B was the right call. Tomorrow should be Lee, Castro and Clemens at SS, 2B and 1B...unless trade/trades are made.

I really liked Span as a player but y'all are right, he's kinda brutal in the booth.

I mean, I have to agree to some extent but I don't know why. He's peppy and very knowledgable...I can't put my finger on the problem (s) but he just doesn't fit somehow.

This team raised the white flag on the season on Monday by trading Paddack, which I agree with.  So now you find out what you have in players who might have a future with the club.  France shouldn't even be on the roster much less starting in this scenario.  He has been basically a replacement level player.  The same stats he has this year got him released last year by Seattle.

They need to find out if Lee can be a part of the future, put him at one position and let him play every day.  This board has no patience for any of the younger players but yet guys like France, Bader, Clemens, Castro should never come out of the lineup despite results.  It would be nice to have higher expectations of this club.  If the prospects or younger players can't do the job then move on and bring in quality replacements.  But bringing in stopgap veterans and playing them no matter how poorly they play is getting old and gives no hope for the future.

We absolutely should see if Clemens is part of the long-term plan. If by some chance Bader and or Castro are still here Friday you'll see an improvement in the game of both.

Clemens will be 30 early next year. I think he is a good bench player with a specified role, not an every day player.  June he was horrible and he has picked up in July.  But there was a reason he was available as a DFA.  But playing France over any of the younger players is borderline insanity.  And I would rather give AB's at !B to either Julien or Sabato.  See what they can do over the last two months and learn where the holes are for next year.

Julien does seem to have turned it around. I think he deserves another chance this year but if there's no good reason to keep him around next year, let's not. Wichita is where the really exciting next wave lives today

Maybe just a little more confidence, maybe just me getting used to him.  Tough listen for me right now.
