I enjoyed it enough to read the rest after basically checking out of the Twins section of this site.  Appreciate the work.  Ignore our pearl clutching friends who think every comment is a political point they have to complain about.

You should not assume the worst. I would read what you have to say. Differences of opinion are not a bad thing.

There is not a single topic that has gotten nearly as much play as how much this organization spends.  There has been countless articles and thousands of posts insisting the team is cheap. People here absolutely love to rant about spending.  It's become a primary function of this site.  I would assume a TD writer would love to provide the facts surrounding their cheapness.  It would be a huge hit to illustrate their cheapness.  I would think there is a TD writer that would want the glory of illustrating these facts.  writers and posters here a generally quite good at proving factual basis for their opinions on player performance opinions but the most commonly asserted fact on this site has never been supported by fact.

I think the Pohlads, in general terms, are mediocre owners and I am reasonably confident the new owners will better overall.  I am quite aware you don't complain.  However, the majority rant constantly without supporting facts which is not exactly rational or intelligent.

Is TD and their followers interested in the facts.   I will join in the condemnation if it's actually proven the Pohalds are cheaper than most or even average?

You go ask the Twins, and at least 3 other mlb teams, for their books and get back to us on that.

It's not remotely necessary to have their books to produce a meaningful comparison (estimate) using an unbiased source like Statista.   All you need is a subscription.

There are also numerous sources for revenue rank and there are multiple sources with very accurate accounts for payroll.  It would be very easy to produce revenue vs revenue rank.  It's obvious you don't want to be informed but perhaps others would like to have some factual data by which to form an opinion.

You might consider a class on economics.

Then just do it already. Jfc.

None of anything that's written on this website NEEDS to be written. I found it very interesting, and although questionable in some inferences or conclusions, a far more engaging read than the fact that the bullpen is projected to be pretty good.

This is a good statement in that on this site there are choices in what we read. And some writers put in a lot more effort than others, so while a subject might not be to our taste, and the opinions and conclusions drawn we might not agree with, we can still find it interesting because the effort made it worthwhile vs the writer who just throws it out there without much substance or thought.

So true. It's probably owned by George Soros. Conservatives have been silenced in the media these days. That's what I heard on Fox News, Facebook, Twitter, and Joe Rogan.

This is the written word so it's technically libelous, not slanderous.

Economics is a far more complicated field than your comment indicates.  Which, perhaps indicates, that your suggestion may be better directed inwards.

Well I have a degree in economics so I’m pretty comfortable with my knowledge in this area.

I'm sure you do.  Given how many economic theories and models there are, making sweeping, declarative statements backs that up.

Or a more likely event is that you don’t know as much about this as you think.

In a word, yes.

That's how owning a business works.

Good luck on a business model that represents in its comment policy to be apolitical but in fact promotes political articles.  Hypocrisy like that turns off half its potential audience with zero effort.  The Workers Daily model won't garner caretakers....

Here's a little economic theory from someone who's bought and sold dozens of businesses:  if someone values your business more than you do, then sell it.  The Pohlads are tied to declining attendance, a perpetually whining local media and a metro area in physical and cultural decline.  From an ROI standpoint it's an easy decision.

And there's a hint for TD, too.  What kind of value will the market place on just another pedestrian, second-rate political media outlet?  Not much.  If you're going to be the best Twins media source, then focus on sports and leave politics to losers.

I'm sure the thousands of papers and books on economics have all been in total agreement.  Totally tracks.

Okay I’m not interested in this kind of bickering so have a nice evening.

This series of articles has done very well in reads, so perhaps you're just wrong that people don't care why a family is selling a team they owned for four decades.

Perhaps.  How many new caretakers plunked their money down in the past 48 hours?

A ton, actually, because the Winter Meltdown is wildly popular and happening in seven days.

The thing is that the overwhelming majority of people simply DO NOT CARE if every article is exactly to their liking. They have better things to concern themselves with in life. We have our views, you have yours. 99% of our pieces don’t sniff a topic that’s even politics-adjacent.

Perhaps the greatest fear of my life is living in a world/place where everyone looks or remotely thinks like me. In the past it was a recurring nightmare. Perhaps this is due to attendance at a male military school, all dressed alike and pretty much the same size and looks too. To me that was/is scary.

There are times when I read things on Twins Daily that make me cringe but it is really easy to stick to baseball for the most part and I find it useful, if not necessarily educational, to read the comments from others who have differing opinions. So thank you to all who put out their opinions and sometimes use various means to support their thoughts. If I ever disagree, know that you are at the very least  keeping me from having nightmares of living in a homogenous world.

Dude, I don’t care for ~30% of what we publish here. And that’s TOTALLY FINE. I don’t have to love and agree with every single thing, that’s boring. This place is built to allow content creators to find their voice and hone the craft while getting paid for it. That’s pretty cool and leads to a wide disparity of opinions and views while always striving to be respectful and informative.

Well then, I'm among the overwhelming majority who, I hope, won't be turned off by the (assumed) 1%.  And I wish you luck with that model....

Overwhelming must mean something different than I understand it to be. Literally. Or is it figuratively?
