Celebrity assault is called "zealous wrestling".

And what is so sad and disappointing is this happened days after a young teammate was killed, along with friends, by a drunk driver. I sure hope Addison has had his eyes opened and has/is getting the help he needs to make sure he doesn't hurt himself, or anyone else, or ruin his life by future mistakes. DocBauer Old-Timey Member Posted July 18, 2025 Posted July 18, 2025 On a completely different topic, I always struggle somewhat as mid and late July come around. I'm honestly more excited about the Vikings than I have been in a few years. I'm also excited for the college season and what my Huskers might accomplish. And I know we've got WEEKS to go before either season starts in full. But when football starts, it also means summer is about over. And that disappoints me somewhat. Maybe that's why I'm such a baseball fan and can't wait for ST every year. Lol Mike Sixel 1

Lol As much as I love summers in Minnesota, I am ready for football to begin… The Twins scratching and clawing their way to 80 wins for the 4th year in a row isn’t that intriguing anymore. I feel really good about the Vikings this upcoming season. 10 wins minimum IMO. I think we will see Detroit take a step back after losing a ton of their coaching staff, including the 2 primary play callers in recent years. I’m also not sold on Jordan Love one bit for the Packers. Mike Sixel, TheLeviathan and DocBauer 3

The Great Hambino Verified Member Posted July 26, 2025 Posted July 26, 2025 Good for Metellus It seems like the Vikings never have ugly contract holdouts like the Bengals always seem to have. The Vikings also always rate at the top of those NFLPA organization surveys, while the Bengals are at the bottom. I don't think these are coincidences. gunnarthor and DocBauer 2

I’m sure there are restructures that can be done… Top of mind is Hockenson, O’Niell/Darrisaw. This feels like the all-in year to go on a deep playoff run with a young, cheap QB. DocBauer 1

DocBauer Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2025 Posted July 28, 2025 I love the deal for Mettelus and keeping him in the fold. He's very underrated considering his role. Question to everyone: I would NEVER stand in the way of anyone advancing their career. And I believe KOC feels the same. But considering how the rest of the NFL views Flores...right or wrong...is it possible his career projection is best as a well paid coordinator? Once upon a time Belichek was a bad coach who went on to a HOF type of career. How much of Miami ownership might have affected Flores' ability to coach there? How much had his legal actions against the league affected his career. Is that fair? I'm SUPER HAPPY he's back for the Vikings in 2025. And not everyone is destined to be a Head Coach. But maybe he is? Maybe he's not? But he's one hell of a defensive genius! I'm NOT trying to create controversy. I'm just asking opinions here. Fatbat 1

Many coaches have been. But the thing is, they oftentimes learn that by having multiple cracks at a head coaching gig. Think Wade Phillips, or Norv Turner and Josh McRoberts from the offensive side. It's possible that the Miami experience soured him on being a head coach, or that he truly is blackballed, or that the ongoing legal proceedings prevent him pursuing a head job at this time. Maybe the general preference for an offensive playcaller as head coach gives front offices enough plausible deniability to overlook him. But my money is on him getting a head job again some day. I think he's too young and too good not to get another opportunity eventually Mike Sixel and DocBauer 2
Fatbat Verified Member Posted July 29, 2025 Posted July 29, 2025 @DocBauer I think Bflo will get a shot at a HC position again at some point in his career. He will likely be with us for a couple more years unless this year’s defense is historic. We have the players and we have the coordinator so we may just do something special and that would get him hired as a HC in ‘26. ‘26.& He may also decide that he wants to stay here and be a part of the Vikes for years. Not sure if there is any inside knowledge about his thoughts on that but it would be a good guess that he wants more than just a D coordinator title. DocBauer 1

The charges he actually got from law enforcement seems light. 3 games in the NFL was expected… If I’m the Vikings I look at bringing Keenan Allen into the fold. From what I’m reading the WR room looks pretty pedestrian outside of JJ and Addison. Might as well load up now so we can see if McCarthy can be the guy to build around.
