LA Vikes Fan Verified Member Posted June 6, 2023 Posted June 6, 2023 It's up now. Buxton to 10 day Il, Larnach up and batting 5th.
lecroy24fan Verified Member Posted June 6, 2023 Posted June 6, 2023 1. Jorge Polanco (S) 2B 2. Alex Kirilloff (L) 1B 3. Carlos Correa (R) SS 4. Donovan Solano (R) DH 5. Trevor Larnach (L) LF 6. Willi Castro (S) 3B 7. Max Kepler (L) RF 8. Christian Vazquez (R) C 9. Michael A. Taylor (R) CF
stringer bell Verified Member Posted June 6, 2023 Posted June 6, 2023 Lineup posted. Correa in, Larnach in. Buxton and Lewis out. So it must be either Buck on IL or Garlick to St. Paul.
LA Vikes Fan Verified Member Posted June 6, 2023 Posted June 6, 2023 Buxton to Il according to MLB. com.
LA Vikes Fan Verified Member Posted June 6, 2023 Posted June 6, 2023 06/06/23 Minnesota Twins placed CF Byron Buxton on the 10-day injured list retroactive to June 3, 2023. Left rib contusion.
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted June 6, 2023 Posted June 6, 2023 My guess was Correa or Buxton to IL. Come on down and get your prize. Yeah an update on Lewis would be nice, too. I am away from tv and radio so if anyone can share an update 👍
Schmoeman5 Verified Member Posted June 6, 2023 Posted June 6, 2023 And why did it take 2 days to come to this decision? And release the lineup 30 min before the 1st pitch. CIA Twins?
wabene Verified Member Posted June 6, 2023 Posted June 6, 2023 Going to battle with a beast from the east with Donnie Barrels at DH.... Kepler at 7th is a start
Fornasiere-ite Verified Member Posted June 6, 2023 Posted June 6, 2023 Not who I thought would be going to the IL today. Welp, at least Solano is DH'ing and not playing first.

I’ll make a bold prediction that either Lewis or Correa hits the IL before the Twins return home.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted June 6, 2023 Posted June 6, 2023 Did anyone on TD in April say “thank goodness for Castro”.

But there's no reason to announce the decision sooner than it needs to be announced.

I sent you a sad emoji, but I would not bet against either honestly I just want to make sure Lewis gets right

Correa is playing tonight but if there's a chance Lewis or Correa may not play for a few days why not IL them and be done. But no. Let's play with a short bench against a division rival ala Cleveland last week. Buxton got hit on Friday. Today is Tuesday. Lewis ok. He's being handled with care. I get it but if they're thinking he's going to be out, then why wait. I don't get it

Honestly, you are probably right, but the best reason to announce it as soon as they lock down the details is because that’s the normal thing to do. I mean, it’s not like we are running a trick play or trying to take Tampa bay by surprise here :)

Players recover at different rates. My (sad) prediction about Correa has more to do with the long-term probability that the injury isn’t healed and will recur. I hope I’m wrong and that CC plays like a Top Teenty player again.

I expect Lewis will not be out for 10 days, but it doesn't hurt to give him another day off to make sure. None of us knows whether Correa will need to be rested and, if so, for how long. I'm sure they didn't want to commit to a 10-day IL assignment for Buxton until they absolutely had to. IL stays can be retroactive. It's a complex situation but the team is handling these issues well. Please do not complain.
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted June 6, 2023 Posted June 6, 2023 bummer about de Grom too. Texas is making noise with a good chance to make the postseason.

Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted June 6, 2023 Posted June 6, 2023 nice to see Polo healthy and lead off

But in 1 game vs Cleveland the Twins bench was Vasquez and another game there was a short bench with a sick Kirilloff. My point is when you prolong your decision you can handcuff your self. And both of those were winnable games.
