Doesn't he have to be activated because he's out of rehab time?

Rehab assignments don't have a time limit but it appears that the minimum is usually 2 weeks..

The rehab process is different for every player, and there is no set timeline for when a player will be ready to return to the sport.

Generally, players will be sent on a rehab assignment for a minimum of two weeks, but it can often take longer depending on the injury.

That would be a very welcome development.  I'm not sold that we'll every see the Polanco of old, but the bats need an infusion and he's capable of providing it.

Once a player is assigned to a minor league affiliate on a rehab assignment, the max time is 20 days.

Gordon is Ice Cold - a little snake bit with finding holes. Julien’s lack of experience has been exposed. Farmer is out for probably a couple more weeks minimum & bats RH.

We need Polanco’s presence in the line-up. The potential/probability for a more consistent offensive approach is needed.

Kiriloff, assuming good health, would be a nice potential presence for consistency in the line-up as well. Can platoon Solano v. LH pitching as was intended & Gallo can give Buxton a break once in a while at DH & he can get back to corner OF as well.

Correct, for a position player. 30 days for pitchers.

Side note: what would they do with Ohtani? Split the difference, 25 days? Or maybe he gets both...50 days?

I think expectations for the offensive impact should be tempered a bit. He's definitely an improvement over Nick Gordon or Julien right now though.

Exactly.  Even longer term through this season, I think guys like Kirilloff and Larnach are going to be, and need to be, much more impactful than Polanco at this stage of his career.

Polanco played tonight at St. Paul and Kirilloff did not. The game is in a rain delay in the eighth inning. So far, he is 1-4 with a walk and two strikeouts.

Thanks. The 2012 CBA mentions that it's possible for a player to have more than one rehab assignment if the player is still injured with the Commissioner's approval. But the player needs to be inactive for 5 days in between rehab assignments.

I'd guess that provision is still in effect.

With approval of the MLB Commissioner, if a player incurs a new (different) injury or illness or suffers a recurrence of the previous injury or illness while on a Minor League Rehabilitation Assignment, the player must be recalled from his Rehab Assignment and remain inactive for at least five days (for "position players") or seven days (for "pitchers" and for "two-way players") before starting another Minor League Rehab Assignment.
