Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted March 16, 2023 Posted March 16, 2023 The original ownership group is well into their 70s if not 80s. Gotta imagine this is estate planning for them. They did a great job building up a unique, successful brand. Hopefully the new venture capitalist group keeps things status quo.
roger Verified Member Posted March 16, 2023 Posted March 16, 2023 Two questions. Did they buy 100%, including the minority interest the Twins bought when the Saints became their AAA club? Also, is this Diamond related to the Diamond that owns Bally Sports North and just took them bankrupt?
Parfigliano Verified Member Posted March 16, 2023 Posted March 16, 2023 Venture capitalists. Hope so and not their evil twin vulture capitalists.

Diamond Baseball is owned by Silver Lake Technology and already owns 13 other minor league baseball teams. they appear unrelated.

I wonder how they avoid conflict of interest...

Tyler from Oregon Verified Member Posted March 16, 2023 Posted March 16, 2023 The previous owners did a great job growing this team and making them a big deal in the Twin Cities. Hopefully they got paid a very large amount of money for the team.
Cris E Verified Member Posted March 16, 2023 Posted March 16, 2023 There was a picture of the Saints old ownership group in the St Paul paper this morning. Man, 30 years must have been a long time ago because Murray looked incredibly young. They all did, really. Of course at the time I thought they were just a bunch of middle aged rich guys, but as I said, 30 years was a long time ago and perspectives change.
