Twins have turned a 1-6-3 and 3-6-1 double play tonight.

Those seem to get botched a lot.

Timing is probably a bit easier with Ortiz at the plate though.

Seriously? He's taking Worley out? And now who does he expect to start the "Fire Gardy For Not Taking ______ Out Thread" later tonight? Did Gardy even consider that?
I repeat...it's only the 6th inning. ;)

Can I get a quick count on how many righties the Duens has retired tonight?

Just once I want to see Anderson walk out to the batters box instead of the mound and chat with the opposing batter about bunting or something. That would be a dose of icewater on his member I think.

Sounds painful

I would love to see some kind of graphic on close pitches. Buckhollz got most of them, the Twins very few.

Just as I type that, Duensing got a called strike to Saltalamachia that was way, way more outside than the ball four pitch to the previous batter. What's going on?

Duens got a break on that pitch to Salty, but in a 3-0 situation, it's not all that unusual. Outside that, I've thought the strike zone has been pretty decent tonight.

That's funny... If I was a manager... I'd try it... At least once... Call time out and go out and talk to The opposing pitcher.

Me: How ya feeling son?

Shields: Uhh.. Good.. What ya doin here.

Me: Just noticing a little drop in velocity. Mechanics are a little off

Shields: Uhh Ok...

Me: I'll you what... You've pitched a whale of a game... Let's bring in someone to finish this for you. (points at left arm and holds hand out for the ball.

Hammer's eyes got just a little too big for his shoes there I think

And his pancreas is to big for his toenails,

Is this thing lagging for anyone other than me?
That's what she said.

I know we have the best bullpen in baseball and all, but I'd be ok with tacking on a few more runs here.

I know the pen is good and all, but I have no confidence in Perkins.

You should re-type that in CAPITALS for emphasis.

Probably the thinking in Boston is the ump is out to screw them. I just think he's an erratic young umpire. 3-0 zones are notoriously wide. Duensing took advantage.
