Guest USAFChief Guests Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 Twins have turned a 1-6-3 and 3-6-1 double play tonight. Those seem to get botched a lot. Timing is probably a bit easier with Ortiz at the plate though.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 Pull the string after that loud foul.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 Pull the string after that loud foul. why a fastball. He was all over those.
Guest USAFChief Guests Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 Seriously? He's taking Worley out? And now who does he expect to start the "Fire Gardy For Not Taking ______ Out Thread" later tonight? Did Gardy even consider that? I repeat...it's only the 6th inning.
Gibby Provisional Member Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 Guess we aren't getting the outside corner tonight.
GCTF Verified Member Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 Can I get a quick count on how many righties the Duens has retired tonight?
Willihammer Provisional Member Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 Just once I want to see Anderson walk out to the batters box instead of the mound and chat with the opposing batter about bunting or something. That would be a dose of icewater on his member I think.
Guest USAFChief Guests Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 That would be a dose of icewater on his member I think. Sounds painful
big dog Verified Member Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 I would love to see some kind of graphic on close pitches. Buckhollz got most of them, the Twins very few. Just as I type that, Duensing got a called strike to Saltalamachia that was way, way more outside than the ball four pitch to the previous batter. What's going on?
big dog Verified Member Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 Whew. Salty swung at ball 4 in the dirt and the Twins head back to the dugout. Hitting shoes on, boys.

Duens got a break on that pitch to Salty, but in a 3-0 situation, it's not all that unusual. Outside that, I've thought the strike zone has been pretty decent tonight.
Gibby Provisional Member Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 There ya go... To the dugout we go For at least 6 pitches.
notoriousgod71 Verified Member Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 Anyone notice Buchholz allowed to go out there for another inning after reaching 100 pitches and set the Twins down in order?

Me: How ya feeling son?Shields: Uhh.. Good.. What ya doin here. Me: Just noticing a little drop in velocity. Mechanics are a little offShields: Uhh Ok... Me: I'll you what... You've pitched a whale of a game... Let's bring in someone to finish this for you. (points at left arm and holds hand out for the ball.

Gibby Provisional Member Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 Is this thing lagging for anyone other than me?

Willihammer Provisional Member Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 Hammer's eyes got just a little too big for his shoes there I think

Guest USAFChief Guests Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 I know we have the best bullpen in baseball and all, but I'd be ok with tacking on a few more runs here.
Gibby Provisional Member Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 I know we have the best bullpen in baseball and all, but I'd be ok with tacking on a few more runs here. I know the pen is good and all, but I have no confidence in Perkins.

stringer bell Verified Member Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 Probably the thinking in Boston is the ump is out to screw them. I just think he's an erratic young umpire. 3-0 zones are notoriously wide. Duensing took advantage.
