notoriousgod71 Verified Member Posted September 25, 2022 Posted September 25, 2022 Palacios is worse than nishioka.
PDX Twin Verified Member Posted September 25, 2022 Posted September 25, 2022 This team just plays dumb baseball. Consistently. Bad throws. Bad baserunning. Bad decisions. I am totally OK with having guys who lack the innate, physical skills to be great players. I'm not OK watching guys do bonehead stuff that they should have learned years ago, or at least FROM THEIR MINOR LEAGUE COACHES (if any).
mnfireman Verified Member Posted September 25, 2022 Posted September 25, 2022 Twins swing at pitch out of zone, pop out or swing and miss. Angels swing at ball out of zone, 2 run single (Ohtani last night, Rengifo today).
tony&rodney Old-Timey Member Posted September 25, 2022 Posted September 25, 2022 Palacios looks athletic. Looks. I am surprised how poor he looks on tv playing for the Twins than he did early in the year. Helman would be an obvious improvement. Gordon didn't move in the outfield to back up the play. Trouble all around.

SanoMustGo Verified Member Posted September 25, 2022 Posted September 25, 2022 I said in another thread the Twins would finish 9 games back...they are on their way to being 12 games out. But I must say, they just look awful.

Yes indeed, and a bit worse then last season over 162. I think that is what we call rebuilding, though I don't think the FO sees it that way. LOL
rwilfong86 Verified Member Posted September 25, 2022 Posted September 25, 2022 I know the media doesn't think the AL Central winner has a chance in the playoffs, but I think Cleveland will cause some trouble. They've got a great manager, good pitching from the rotation and bullpen and are fundamentally sound. I wouldn't be surprised if Cleveland wins a playoff series against a 'better' team.

LOL Yep, we have a whole thread on this website dedicated to the arguments why Rocco shouldn't be brought back although he seems to be secure haha?

Let's hope so, the front office trading for damaged pitchers along with the incompetence of the coaching should lend support to a complete rebuild.
RpR Verified Member Posted September 25, 2022 Posted September 25, 2022 It seems to me that when the top four or five players hit, too often the bottom four or five do not hit and Vice-Versa.

The concern with Cleveland for me is if they can sustain their brand of baseball in to October. They are one of the most interesting teams in MLB right now.

RpR Verified Member Posted September 25, 2022 Posted September 25, 2022 Maybe Palacios should have stood a couple feet farther infront of Second Base; if the throw had been dead-on he would have still have to turn around to tag him.
