Hernandez is known for having an absolute cannon in RF. I give Miranda props against the majority of the league I feel he makes that, but I agree you can't make that out there.

I don't think anyone in the Twins fandom loves, or even likes what they're doing. I justify it as picking the lesser of two evils and protecting their investment. Maybe with two days off we get him for 3/4 instead of 2/3. If Buxton breaks 100 games this year I'll be content knowing he played as much as his body let him without going on the IL.

This is going to be a real test for Smeltzer... especially if the Twins defense has problems with fly balls like the Jays are.

Chicago is up 4-0 in the first in Tampa Bay. Cleveland is up 3-0 in the 2nd inning. Likely going to need to win here to keep pace.

The Jays are a terrible matchup for Smeltzer. The only worse matchup possible is the Yankees. They absolutely crush LHP, and Smeltzer doesn't even have good stuff against bad teams. If he can get through 3 or 4 innings with <= runs allowed per inning pitched, it's a good start.

I thinking it'll be a low-K, high-BB day for him. This team is just downright potent when it comes to hitting LHP. If he keeps getting double plays like that though we'll be just fine!
