Winder to the IL

Josh Winder just got put on the 15 day IL with a right shoulder impingement. Might explain why he didn't pitch that well his last couple times out. Not good news at all. They also brought up Trevor Megill.

He was shut down last year due to should fatigue. Hopefully we're not on the road to surgical rotator cuff repair.

I'm not a big fan of Smeltzer but he has been effective. If they had doubts about Winder's shoulder, it deepens my concern on why they sent Smeltzer down. Because now they have nobody again in long relief. It furthers my concern on Baldelli's blindness of our need of having a strong long relief corp.

The HOU series took a lot out our SPs in those games, seemed they tried to obtain another gear. Wonder if Winder hurt his shoulder then.

This is a concern. Winder did not look comfortable or willing to cut loose the last few times out and i just thought this was due to some shaky confidence. I hope Winder recovers quickly.

Thought to see him get hurt when he was just getting started. This was kind of the elephant in the room regarding our pitching pipeline. Lots of promise but substantial injury concerns across the board.
